I am coming for my honeymoon to NZ in November. I am staying at Chrictchurch for 3 nights and Queenstown for 4 nights. I am spending one night each at Wanaka, Mt. Cook and Franz Josef. I have one additional night to spend. Among the above 3 places, where should I spend it. Which is the most scenic and relaxing?

Franz Josef is pretty much a two trick place. Walk on the glacier and travel to the coast to look back at the Southern Alps and you have done it (unless you want to go on helicopter flights and stuff)

Mt Cook area is gorgeous. Lakes and mountains on your doorstep with some great walks and scenic flights.

Wanaka is a town. There is lots happening around about, but it is still a town. Not much different to Queenstown, but smaller and less frenetic.

My choice would be Mt Cook.
