lazy people..jeez..this is a family top secret, no frosting needed
Ok, get a yellow cake mix, a can of pineapple rings, marishino cherries, butter, brown sugar,
Melt butter, pour into 9x13 pan, sprinkle 1/4 cup. of brown sugar over melted butter in pan. Place pineapple rings evenly and then a cherry inside each. For the cake mix, instead of adding water, use the juice from the pineapple. Pour mixture on top...bake at 350 for about 30 mins or until golden brown.
I take a piece of cardboard and wrap with foil to serve. Will be the best you've ever had...

Here's a wonderful light recipe. It doesn't have a name.
1 box yellow or white cake mix
ingredients called for on the box
1 can fruit (either pears, peaches, fruit cocktail)
powdered sugar
Follow the directions on the box for the cake mix but substitute the juice from the can of fruit for part of the water called for. If there isn't enough juice to equal the water, add some water to equal the correct amount. Blend the fruit until it's into small pieces. Put 1/2 of the fruit into the cake mix and stir well. Bake the cake according to the box directions. When the cake comes out of the oven, sift some powdered sugar (apx 1-1 1/2 cups) and place in a skillet with the rest of the fruit and whatever juice is with the fruit. Add a little water if too thick - you want it pourable. Stir to dissolve until the sugar is clear and heated. Poke holes in the cake all around with the point of a meat thermometer. Pour the icing over the cake. It will be clear but will make the cake nice and moist. You don't have to spread it - just pour it all over.

This one is great and you don't need icing! It's kind of already inside of it.
Chocolate Earthquake Cake
1 box German Chocolate cake mix
1 cup Nuts [chopped]
1 can Sweetened Flaked Coconut [3.5 oz]
½ cup Margarine
1 pkg Cream Cheese [8 oz, softened]
1 box Confectioners' Sugar [1 lb]
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x13 inch cake pan.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
Cover the bottom of the cake pan with the nuts and coconut.
Pour cake batter on top.
Melt the margarine in a bowl.
Add the cream cheese and confectioners' sugar; stir to blend.
Spoon over un-baked batter; bake 40 - 42 minutes.
The icing sinks into the batter as it bakes, forming a white ribbon inside.
Note:
You cannot test for doneness with a cake tester, as this cake will appear sticky even when it is done.

It's not worth it - go to the store and buy a Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker mix and icing!
Saves so much time and they are all delicious!

Any box you buy at the store ..always add a tablespoon of oil even if it does not require it... It makes the cake soft and moist. Trust me.
