Your question assumse that an AI has already been built.

I disagree with it...unless several failsafes (on AI and remote) can be established. I wouldnt trust it. Mankind is too corrupt for any other intelligent being to trust us, artificial or not. But it would be cool to see and hear a true AI's thoughts on some of our problems.

Building AI will happen, but probably not a quickly as the proponents would like. It will take many generations of computers to achieve artificial intelligence the way most of us envision it. What I believe is more important than WILL someone build it, but HOW will we direct the use of it? Our conversations should be about the ethics of it's use, and guiding those uses.

Artificial intelligence , in the true sense of intellect, probably won't occur any time soon.
Just try to get a desired response from your computer to a question that requires thought and you will immediately see that computers CAN'T think.
AI is a LONG way off, if ever.
I do believe we will eventually develop computers that work well enough to appear to be thinking.
Then again, if they aren't intelligent, maybe they won't go CRAZY!
