I already asked the parents of the child who will be participating and they said "it should be alright" "I asked the child she said" I guess so?" But I would really like to know if I should try to find a sitter. Or if other people typically bring their kids? My kids are 7 mos and 2 years old. The cotillion will be held in the afternoon. I have no idea what to expect.

Unless your children were specifically named on the invitation, you should get a sitter. When the parents said that it was ok, they were probably surprised you asked and felt put on the spot. Your children wouldn't enjoy it and they might end up ruining the event for the young girl who is having the cotillion. I'm not saying that they aren't well behaved, but it would not be appropriate to bring a 2 year old and a 7 month old to a cotillion.

I would say get a baby-sitter, because parents may have said it was allright, but it's a formal event and two small children will not be used to the setting. Loud cries and fussiness will ruin the event. I know you love your little darlings, but they do not belong at an event like this. Hope this helps and have fun!

I dont think it's a good idea to bring children that young to an important adult affair, I'd try to find a sitter.

I would get a sitter...unless the children are mentioned on the invite. Its a pretty formal affair
