Have you thought about floating candles, a crstyal horse and cart pulling the bride and groom, pictures of you and your significant other that could also pose as party favors, a imitation wedding cake, rose petals and votive candles, designer candle stands, how about a digital picture with pictures of you and your new husband, awesome, people will look at it for sure throughout the night when done take it home and put up. You can also put the rose petals, the cameras for your guest to take pictures and in between the digital frames, and a thank you message on it as well. just idea's ........ I am doing my vow renewal as well and I am looking for ideas as well as sharing what I have found. Good luck and congratulations on your engagement. it's your day...

Perhaps you can use something like a cable car for the table you label San Francisco with little yellow candles in the shape of the sun, maybe for Newport you can use the like the bark and flowers (http://jane-carroll.com/shopping/images/barksetlge.jpg) and lay leaves and such on the table..and for montreal, you can use a glass globe with snow on the inside.. and leave snow confetti on the table...think outside of the box... for some ideas that may work for you.

I had round tables that seated 8 people per table. I had a large round mirror in the middle of the table, with a smaller round mirror on top. I had a large candle in a hurricane vase with glass beads, all my wedding colors, right in the center of the smaller mirror. I then had 8 little glass votives of a few different sizes, colored marbles, and little votive candles. They were set up so that they were in front of each of the 8 seats. Several people took the small votives with them, and that was fine. What was I going to do with all of them? It was simple, but really pretty. I bought everything very inexpensive at the local craft store. I then put the wedding favors in front of each seat. I got my favors (silver wine bottle stoppers) at favorwarehouse.com. Look on that website, and you can find any number of favors that go with the color and theme of your wedding.

You could have candles in a neat container-like a lantern or a really fancy hurricane vase-that way, if the candle burns down, they could still have a really beautiful candle-holder. Or you could have a potted plant in a brushed silver vase rather than flowers-it won't really die as easily as flowers, and could be planted in a yard-and green would look so fresh with the light blue.

How about a cookie bouquet? If you're intending your centerpieces to be favors as well, think edible. People love things they can take home.

I'm planning my wedding with an Asian feel, so we're using white paper lanterns as our centerpieces with colored light bulbs inside. Scattered around the table we'll have a few little Chinese take-out boxes stuffed with candies and ribbons.

I am having a vase(10.00) with a pillar candle(4.00) setting in sand (5.00 for 25lb) with shells and starfish, sand dollars, sea glass polished rocks, (found at the dollar store our at a craft store or on oriental trade.com, with 10 votive candles in clear holder (.25-.75) around them, 10 people per table. Candy as gift to take home and I will be giving center pieces away by a easy to play game of questions (one person at table get there napkin...then you ask who has been married the longest? they pass napkin for a few questions (who has blues eyes etc.. ) where ever it ends up they get to take it home!! Plus they can take out the pillar use it as a vase or what every they please!! Anything will work you don't have to have flowers. Maybe put jars filled with candy on the table with ribbon, there are many things to do you can also check out the knot.com they have hundreds of idea's. Good luck best wishes, I hope I helped.

For my upcoming wedding, I brought a whole bunch of plain candle votive glass holders, a fancy, wedding-themed spool of ribbon, some children's craft plastic gemstones, and votive candles. I got out the hot-glue and created my own, unique candle centerpieces by swirling the ribbon around the candleholder and gluing the gemstones in strategic places.

Well, I've seen large glass vases with fruit (cranberries, lemons, aplles) or rocks submerged in water and floating candles.

This hotel has orchids in water and you can use plastic flowers (although I'm not a fan of plastic)

How about gifts piled up...

EDIT
These are interesting boxes that are shaped into a cake

EDIT 2
Maybe have travel labels on mini boxes and fill them with chocolate

We took different sized rectangle vases, wrapped some in brown tissue paper, some in pink, and some in white. Then placed candles inside. It was a very glowy, elegant effect!

You could do something with candles, but how about these crystal bouquets:

These are a bit expensive but I am sure you could create a variation yourself. Just go to the craft store and get some ideas.

Good luck!
