Ever heard of a river called "denial?" (play on words.. The Nile, you know)
Anyway, if they were to admit such a thing and hold their Organization accountable, it would undermine the foundation of their belief system and cause them to have to make real choices between obeying God and obeying their Organization. There are real ramifications for disobeying The Organization, as you and I both know.. so it's easier and safer to swallow the lie and not think about that unpleasantness.

In a nutshell, because the Watch Tower Society SAYS it's the truth and presents as its "proof" a whole slew of intricately twisted and out of context verses of Scripture.
By way of example, this trend is most recently borne out by the misinterpretion of Proverbs 4:18, speaking of "new light" making the path brighter. This verse is what they now use to sweep all of the false prophecies under the rug, claiming that it somehow excuses what they've previously said when the path wasn't always so bright.
Guess the WTS got tired of simply denying it ever said such things, only to be proven for the liars that they are. They next tried to convince everyone that they had misread their meaning. Failing that, there is suddenly this "new light" that is supposed to make all of these false prophecies ok. Not according to God in Deut. 18: 20-22.

In my search for truth I looked into different religions and did a process of elimination based on what I read in the Bible.
Jesus said you will know my people for the love they have for one another. This would be a true identifying mark of true Christianity. Do people even know God's name today? Do religions preach as Jesus commanded? Do they participate in wars? Do they make God's Word invalid by their traditions?
I considered the mistakes that were made in the early history of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know that Jehovah God is perfect and his Son Jesus is perfect, but men are not. Man makes mistakes, just look around the world today and that's obvious to see. But God disciplines those that he loves and it's in our best interest to be humble ourselves and accept the discipline and make changes. We are constantly learning how to become better Christians. I know that Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth and if this was not God's organization it would come to nothing.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not do as this questioner supposes.
The Scriptural expressions "the Truth" and "the Way" refer to true Christianity as taught in the bible. Jehovah's Witnesses do their best to adhere to biblical truth, but readily admit their imperfection and past mistakes. Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to be uniquely infallible and inspired. No human work can contradict the bible.
(John 8:31-32) Jesus went on to say...: “If you remain in my word, you are really my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
(1 Timothy 3:15) God’s household, which is the congregation of the living God, a pillar and support of the truth.
(Acts 9:1-2) the disciples of the Lord...who belonged to The Way, both men and women.
(John 14:6) Jesus said...: “I am the way and the truth
Incidentally, what does the bible say about those who actually 'work what is injurious' and suppress "the truth"?
(Romans 1:18,24) For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way... God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them, even those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie
(Romans 2:8-9) For those who are contentious and who disobey the truth but obey unrighteousness there will be wrath and anger, tribulation and distress, upon the soul of every man who works what is injurious
(2 Timothy 3:8) These also go on resisting the truth, men completely corrupted in mind, disapproved as regards the faith
It is perhaps anti-Witnesses who should renew their study of "the truth", recognizing that their months or years or decades of persecuting Jehovah's Witnesses have been unsuccessful. Their knowledge and willingness to work can perhaps be redirected to serve a godly purpose...
(Isaiah 54:17) Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success
(2 Corinthians 13:8) For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth
Readers might ask Which of the mindsets mentioned by James seems to describe the critics and which describes the defenders of Jehovah's Witnesses?
(James 3:14-17) If you have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in you hearts, do not be bragging and lying against the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is the earthly, animal, demonic. For where jealousy and contentiousness are, there disorder and every vile thing are. But the wisdom from above is first of all chaste, then peaceable, reasonable
(1 John 2:21) No lie originates with the truth

Pretty much every religion insists it had absolute truth. It's baits people because many prefer certainty to rational thinking.

Paul's words at Romans 16:17 apply to you and your "question". He warned, “Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.”

"....only get their information from the Watchtower."
I find that to be very funny considering the Watchtower articles quote and cite the SCRIPTURES to back up what it says. Have you even read one before? How do you explain all the scriptures listed throughout the magazine?
