Calicoes are not a CFA/TICA/ACFA purebred cat. They have brown, black, and white coloring.
The traditional Siamese is a light brown color, with darker markings on the nose, paws and tail. They have short hair and usually a narrow face along with a generally thinner body structure.
*There are other kinds of Siamese cats such as a Snowshoe, Flame Point, etc.
Persians are long haired cats with flat faces. There are all different colored Persians and they are usually smaller cats.

Well, a calico is just a coat color/pattern. You can have calico persians and calico domestic shorthairs, it's just the coat color.
The difference between Siamese and Persians is the breed lines, they've altered the bone structure of the legs and skull over years of selective breeding. It affects the behavior of the cats and encourages other things (like talking in the Siamese).

Calico is just a coloring not an actual breed. Siamese (that I have ever known at least) tend to be a little more active, more intent on getting your attention and interaction and more talkative than a Persian, which are usually very laid back and willing to just kind of sit around with you. (I have one, and yes he is VERY easygoing, but he also thinks he's a dog so don't know how much that affect it, lol). Then obviously the looks and fur length.

There are calico Persians (a breed) because the calico is just a color pattern that most any breed can have. The Siamese is one of the exceptions as they are always "pointed" cats - seal point, lilac point, flame point etc. where the coloring is on the ears and tail.
My applehead Siamese (not pure bred) had a black face which I think is the norm for a seal point.
