Okay, so I'm trying to setup a spreadsheet, and each time I enter a number, for instance, 270159633350, it converts it to 2.7016E+11, and I've tried formatting the cells, but its not working, and I'm not sure what I did. If anyones got any ideas, it would appreciated.

Hi. The reason why this is happening to you is that the default cell format in Excel is a "General" format. This means excel will display whatever you enter in the cell in the "best" possible format. Your number is not a typical number used because of its size, thus the scientific format is being used to conserve space.

To override this, you need to set the cells data type to one that will allow you to view all the digits. The 2 best options are:
a) Number with 0 decimal places
b) Text

To change the format you can right-click on the cell and select properties, or as a shortcut key, you can click on the cell and press Ctrl-1 to open the cell properties dialog box. From here you can change the data type of the cell you desire. If you want a whole column or row to have the same format, highlight the whole row or column and open the Cell Format dialog box.

I hope this answers your question

Format the cell as a Number format. Go to:

Format > Cells...

Then pick the Number tab.

Then pick Number from the list.

Then set the number of decimal places and if you want commas, etc.
