Never understood peoples irrational hatred of traffic wardens.

If people didn't disobey the rules of the particular road they're on, they wouldn't get tickets. Generally, the rules are there for the benefit/safety of the majority.

I would rather see 100 people who park in the wrong place get a ticket than someone doing their job get abused.

Just to clarify, I am not employed as, related to, or friends with a traffic warden.

Surely the councils are only responding to the situation with a reasonable number of wardens? I won't state where my girlfriend lives (other than south coast of England), but her home town only has one warden and little trouble.

For plenty of blood, gore and traffic warden abuse you can always watch Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels...

reverse into him/her! Joking apart they are a real pain. One in Muswell Hill recently tried to ticket a car that was just seconds over the time limit, not giving the owner a chance to return to the car. A crowd of us gathered around him protesting until he eventually walked off just as the grateful owner turned up.

Call me strange, but I have this funny idea that the penalty for murder is a touch more serious than a parkiung ticket.
