If you were god and could make a universe and control its elements, create life in its many forms, as well be omnipotent and ominiscient, would you demand loyalty, thanks and eternal worship or would you try and encourage man to get on with it, live with one another without prejudice and fight for humanity. Would you make man a little less evil too?

your god does demand thanks, loyalty and belief in him because if you dont, he wont invite you to his party in heaven, no matter how nice or good you are!

I've been asking a few questions over the past few days about religion and I can clearly see how easy fundmentalist extremism breeds. I think if your not part of the solution you are part of the problem of hatred in this world because there is prejudice, hypocracy and intolerance in almost all answers I have received from religious people!!!

You mean would we do exactly what God did, try and encourage man to get on with it, live with one another without prejudice and fight for humanity.

The God I know doesn't demand loyalty. You have a choice and so do I.

Your EDIT: "your god does demand thanks, loyalty and belief in him because if you dont, he wont invite you to his party in heaven, no matter how nice or good you are!"

Not so. Consider the law. You have a choice to obey them or not. If you break the law, you pay the price. It's that simple. By your standards everyone should be allowed to do whatever they want, whenever they want. The world would be in chaos.
God is no different, you can choose to obey his law or not. If you don't, you may suffer the consequences. The only difference is, God is far more forgiving than the law.

I would give them free will knowing some will choose the wrong way. Because we want to know that we have a choice.
Your do need them to respect you. Because if they don't it is like a parent wants to be respected. Maybe yes even worship. Because unless they value your opinion they are not going to do what you want. If you were able to make a Universe then you would have more wisdom than a teenager.
You would want these children to benifet from your age and experience. If you gave them no direction or laws or counsel to survive. You would have what we have today in many societys. Lawlessness and murder and stealing and no respect for other people.
Actually the way he did it was pretty smart and could have worked out really well.
what was the way it got messed up was Satan and the other angels getting into the earth, changing things and getting us in trouble. Get rid of Satan and it could work.

It never ceases to amaze me how man thinks that he knows more than God. God tried to explain this to you in the Book of Jeremiah in the Old Testament. God called Himself the Potter and you are the clay. God said He could make you any way He wanted to make you and there is nothing you can do about it. That is an absolute and very tough for most people to understand. God said He has the right to make good pots and bad pots, loyal pots and disloyal pots, thankful pots and unthankful pots, worshiping pots and rebelling pots, prejudice pots and unprejudice pots, fighting pots and fleeing pots and yes little less evil pots and little more evil pots.

It is all about God. It is not all about you. God said His thoughts are higher than your thoughts. That is the nicest way God could say that He is a great deal smarter than you are.

Oh and God did make the universe, the earth and you. We call Him Creator and a Holy God.

If I could make man again I would make him kinder and more tolerant and not so keen on conquering, maybe more content. I wouldn't have a world where some were starving while others had too much, I would want man to share the world and appreciate the beauty of it. And that would make me happy, I would not want to be thanked or worshipped.

No demands, and no worship. My foundation would be based in compassionate understanding.....looking not just at the action, but the WHY?

Evil? A big word, and one that needs clarification. I think that evil is selfish action, based with the intention to harm the earth, animals, or human beings. Intention is the name of the game. But, out of the negative, comes the window of opportunity, the catalyst for change, and growth.

Without it, would we stagnate....?

Here we go again with those worthless "what if" questions,
Sheesh !!
Ok, here we go, The Universe has already made so that kills that.

God is Ominpotent and Omni-Temporal and Omni-present, I am not, nor would I attempt to impose anyone to follow any laws made up by mere men.
I am not God.

I feel sure God has had his fill of us and there would be no tomorrow in which he would make the universe with us included again. If I were God would I do what you suggest. No I would eliminate all negative things.

God has already done all of those things, but man rebells against GOD and loves himself and the world more and therefore, evil, idolatory, prejudice and people being fickle. All creators want to be appreciated even the one for penicillin and the plasma screen television.

I would have a hands off approach. Give a few commands. Show myself to some and not others. Then sit back and watch the chaos.

If I claimed to be god I would expect to be locked up in a padded cell; then I would relent, and admit I`m not, because I`m honest. Honest I am!
