This particular chapter deals primarily with incest. Those who practice incest are not on this forum or in public arenas asking for acceptance and approval.
Neither are the thieves, child molesters, drunkards, and the adulterers.
My views on homosexuals and their rights movement have been stated here many times, always in an ANSWER form. If homosexuals do not want to hear what we think, they need to stop asking us.........

It is in the christian's nature to judge. That being said, it is in ALL religion's nature to judge. The Koran and Torah say the same thing about homosexuality as all 3 books are derived from the same source.
christians only adhere to this one particular OT verse because it allows them a reason to 'Biblically' hate a group of people they do not understand. They can then say, "God hates your sin.... but don't worry, god still loves you".
That's nonsense because christian's can't seperate the person from the (supposed) sin.
If they were to follow the old testament, those who slept with a woman during her period should be stoned to death etc...
I can understand why Jews and Muslims would uphold this particular belief about homosexuals being 'sinful' as their faith is based on the OT; however, christians, who say their faith is different because they base their beliefs in the New Testament, should not be quoting OT as current practiced doctrine. Christianity bases their salvation not on the old, but the new testament. See the illogic in it all? They use what they want and ignore what they don't want to see.
That's the scary thing about christianity.

The Old Testament laws that don't reflect God's character (animal sacrifice) were done away with in the new covenant.
The strongest arguments are from the New Testament. That's what Christians live by today, and there's less confusion.
Here's a New Testament verse on homosexuality:
I Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality..."

I imagine the same reason many Christians quote Paul when they think he is talking about homosexuals but ignore Paul when he says women ought not to preach and are to be submissive to their husbands.
They also do not come down hard on obese people who overeat even though James' condemed those who are gluttons and live to serve their belly.
People pick and choose to suit their personal or political prejudices. But few Christians would admit that they are relativist about their scriptures and the application thereof.
One Christian I know was very honest and admitted to me that it is humanly IMPOSSIBLE to follow the ENTIRE bible perfectly and not even she is capable of doing so. According to her she "sins" all the time and has to ask for forgiveness all the time. So I imagine if a Christian thinks being gay is a sin, then it is no greater a sin than the ones they are guilty of everyday.

My opinion is that most Christians have not actually read Leviticus, and therefore might not be aware of the other Levitican laws.
Also, homosexuality is mentioned again in the NT, whereas most of the other Levitican laws are not.
Some Christians are aware of the other laws and choose not to follow them.
So, to answer your questions, the reason is either ignorance of Leviticus, repetition of the law in the NT, or hypocrisy.

Great point...if you want to accept one as the "truth" you really need to accept them all. Of course, Christians need to stop worrying about the sins of the world and focus on their own sins...something about removing the beam in your own eye before you try to take the speck out of someone else's eye.
Homosexuality is just one of many sins some Christians like to run around condemning (conveniently forgetting that God never gave us the right to condemn anyone for breaking HIS laws!). Those people on the receiving end should find it at least a little gratifying to know that God promised to judge each of us by whatever ruler we use to judge others so those that are judging homosexuals for breaking God's law are sure to be themselves judged for every law they broke!

The laws forbidding gay sex are echoed in the NT. The laws forbidding other things are (vaguely) repudiated.
