I think people are evil and religion reflects that.
I don't necessarily mean evil in the christian sense, just people are limited and so is religion. The obvious bigotry and all the wars, these are the doings of man.

Religions can be a source of evil, such as the Crusades. But in general, the world, the flesh, and the devil are the primary sources of evil.

No, religion can inspire some people to do great things.
It all depends on the person and how they interpret their religion for themselves. For example, Shirley Phelps-Roper's interpretation is very bad. Mother Teresa's very good.
