I've never used one or even held one, but my son was shot in the ear by an 11 year old. He had a hole ripped right through his ear and I took him to the ER. The boy who shot him did not have any ammo, and totally denies he shot him. The boys parents said that my son must have fallen and hit his ear on something. Yea right! My son ends up with a hole straight through his ear and the other boy was playing with a pellet gun at the time. Can someone give me some advice and let me know if this is a possible reason that my son was injured? Thanks.

It's possible, if you found the right sized pebble.
If the parents are unwilling to discipline their son, perhaps the court system will need to do their job.

yes, the right size pebble can be shot through, but unless the kid was using a high powered pellet gun or your son was trying to pierce his ear with the pellet I might start looking at other causes. in my experience it'd take at least 700fps to go straight through a kid's ear. as for taking this to court, it'd be a waste of your money and time. unless you have some proof. well...that lady did sue mcdonalds....
not enough info though, what does your son say, what kind of pellet gun, and were the parents watching? gotta be some kinda law about that. can't use the suckers without adult supervision.

The odds of being able to use a pebble in a pellet gun are right up there with the odds against being hit by a meteorite. It has happened, but the odds are astronomical!
Like JD said, this is a matter for the court system if the other parents won't accept financial responsibility.

It is certainly possible to use a pebble, but personally I would look at the likelihood the boy responsible had pellets or BB's his parents weren't aware of. Did you file a Police Report?This incident calls for being looked into further.Maybe even to juvenile court. There is also the matter of the cost to you out of pocket for your son's treatment . This should also be considered.

i have tried that trick before and if you can find a pebble that small it will not shoot very far your son was shot by a pellet or a bb for sure and i would take the other boy's parents to court and sue them and i would get a lawyer any bb gun or pellet rifle can kill or injure people animals or property the parents should have raised ther child better guns do not kill people. people kill people it is not the gun's fault it is the shooter

I have shot just about anything I could fit into a pellet gun from spit balls to balls of wax we tried to shoot everything out of it.Id say the boy probly shot him with a pellet.You need to file a report with the police they will atleast take the pellet gun from the kid.When I was a teen I had my bb and pellet guns taken away two diffrent times.From doing foolish things like this.If that kid gets away with this he will most likley do it again.Or do somthing even more dangerous.

you cant shoot pebbles he must have had ammo. I got shot in the ear but it didn't go all the way through my ear just got stuck inside. I beat the kid silly so there was no dispute between my parents and his they just called it even.

it is theoretically possible but I agree that he probably had some BB-pellets his parent did not know about or they are protecting their son
