Zombies represent a multitude of sins.
No, I mean that.
Zombies are representatives of yourself and your past, parts of you you thought had killed or eliminated come back to get you, and they won't die because you can't really kill anything in dreams, and you are powerless against your own past. Most of these sins could be inane things like ditching school, not doing your homework, or not doing anything useful - in fact, by admitting your inactivity in waking life these could be the dead parts of you that didn't act when you had the chance.
Zombies can also represent people you feel superior to. Oh yes, everyone has a superiority complex. The fact that you have other family members with you indicates you and your family members subconsciously believe you are better than others, and are annoyed by the seemingly 'dead' personality people around you. Your fear is that you will be overcome by all of this - your sins and lame people out to get you, and you will become like them.
Your best weapon against zombies is light and laughter. Laugh at those zombies instead of freaking out. Laugh at boring people if you must. Get a sense of humor and learn to laugh at yourself, too. Let go of those chips on your shoulder and lighten your load. Open up doors and windows and let the sun shine in to your house - do the same in your dreams. Try to find the humor in the situation confronting you in your dreams. Instead of weapons to kill, imagine them in costumes of shame, and laugh. Give them flowers, funny hats, make them silly, and in your life, find the humor in situations and learn to laugh at your mistakes, and above all FORGIVE YOURSELF AND FORGIVE OTHERS!
It takes time, but by changing your attitude towards other people and life, your dreams will change.
Good luck.

Well let's look at the elements in this dream:
Death, persecution, violence, escape, and confrontation.

Is there anybody in your life recently that's really been stressing you out? Probably somebody, or group of people that you know are in the wrong, but you feel overwhelmed by?

Try confronting these people (minus all the weapons and killing) to see if the dreams disappear.

Although, I might actually enjoy some dreams about destroying zombies.

Dreaming is a disease. The zombies are people. We have become these and you are trying to get rid of something that's not wanted, non humans who are a reflection of lucifer. Why would family members not be zombies, we all are.

Zombies could represent past problems that you thought you had dealth with, but haven't. so these zombie problems are constantly trying to catch up with you and you constantly try to kill them again.

Hard to say though. Dream symbols are pretty subjective.
