Language students are of the opinion that, why bother to learn German when it is possible to function in German-speaking environments by speaking English? As for those who could be potentially attracted to the vast body of beautiful literature in the German language (including song texts), well, people who read real books and poetry are in the minority in general today, aren´t they?
