I was told I have to be off them for a year to join the airforce and was wondering if it's the same for all branches. It really pisses me off.

Thanks. Damn that really pisses me off. I don't need them but I'm told to take them as a precaution since it's my senior year. Free country my ***

It's not that I'm depressed it's emotions that deal solely with love that affect me. If I can't join the military here I'll do it in another country

NO. all meds must be discontinued BY YOUR PHYSICIAN and be off them for 12 months AND you must function NORMALLY during that time before a waiver will be considered.

Additionally, if you have been Diagnosed with Bi Polar or long term mental illness(treatment not for situational depression or lasting longer than six months) you are Permanently DQd with no waivers authorized.

i think that applies to all military service. you really need to be healthy physically & emotionally because you will undergo stressful and months of training. if you really want to be part of the military just wait. remember patience is a virtue :)

1 year for army too. you will also need a clearance letter from your doctor stating that they are not needed any longer and that you are good to go
