Smartest in science, yes. But what about the rest of everything else? If I handed a scientist a screwdriver, could he fix my car?

In general, yes, I would agree. I think that when someone has an extremely high IQ, they tend to be more curious, and that naturally leads you in the direction of careers with a scientific basis.
Of course, there are always some not-smartest people who make it, and there are some of the smartest people in the world who aren't scientists.

Not necessarily. There are a LOT of smart scientists, but that doesn't mean that they are THE smartest. They certainly have great educations.

You realize that XXXXXX are the most beautiful people?
Rather a meaningless statement. Scientist may range from an average intelligence to genius, but they have spent their careers studying their chosen field and having their finding reviewed.

No, not necessarily.
Science nowadays requires extreme specialization, and I consider "smart" to be on a variety of topics, including social factors. Not all scientists fit this bill. I can't agree entirely with your generalization.
You can know everything about a very small mechanism, or you can know a moderate amount about nearly every mechanism, and I would consider you to possibly be of equal intelligence.

You want us to say yes so you can tell us they are all...never mind.
No, I don't know if that is true. Each professional person is smart in their field and it would take a lot of research to find the smartest in each category.

Too general. On average, I expect that scientists will have IQs above 100.
And people with very high IQs often go into science.
That's as far as you can state so briefly without providing data.

A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be. Scientist are the most knowledgeable person on a particular discipline. They are big thinkers and genius innovators.
