It's not god making the threats, it's hypocritical christians who think they have the right and ability to speak for god.
But otherwise, I agree with you.

They aren't empty threats for most of the people that use them to try to make their case for Christianity. Suffering for eternity is really the worst possible threat one could face, and it's a fear that has gripped them completely. So much so that they are offended and astonished that other people can go through life without that fear.
Personally I'd rather go to Hell than 1) know some of my loved ones were burning while I hung out in paradise, or infinitely worse 2) be forced to forget about my loved ones entirely so that I could enjoy Heaven.
So for me, the threat, whether endorsed by some sacred text or by its followers, just simply does not affect me in any way. For the above reasons, I'm more afraid of a Christian's notion Heaven than a Christian's threat of Hell.

Yes there is a hell and it is not an empty threat yes I agreed that some Christian will say that to every one they see. But they are not the one that sent people there. the other part yes every one are going to heaven some people will stay there for ever but some will be there for less than a sec those people will be judge on what that person did on earth and He have books on what you and every one on the earth and He will ask question I don't know what they are but if you did some thing wrong when you was living and if you did not re pend or accept

No, because my parents would turn the car around. But I do find the Hell threats to be empty threats as I do not believe in hell.

Or like, um, they told you you'd go to jail if you broke the law? Not empty threats buddy! And it's not being 'judgmental' as many like to say. That was my point earlier this week; if your parents tell you this are they being judgmental? Nope. Just stating facts.

Absolutely not. It's a fair warning.
ps. If I tell my kids I'm going to turn the car around and they still don't shut up, I turn the stinking car around.

Don't mistake God's great mercy for empty threats............remember the Ark. No one believed and now it's thousands of years in the past.................they were all invited on and refused.
