With Angus beef (all angus cows are black), these cows are usually more well fed than the other types. Angus are bred for the purpose of consumption. Other breeds of cows are bred (and fed) according to their uses too.

Any ordinary, pasture raised cow can find its way to the dinner table. Many of the steaks in the north are from dairy cattle. Though, they might be tasty, those cows aren't bred for their meat, but for their milk production. If you get a steak from a cow specifically raised for it's beef purposes, the quality (and price) is usually much higher. (better marbling, texture, flavor)

Being from the south, my grandfather only raised Angus for his beef purposes. I guess the reason it's so popular now, is that we finally let out a few secrets! :)

I don't think it's Black Angus just Angus beef but anyways I dont think it's that great. However I did hear that "KOBE" beef is supposed to be the best beef in the world. Expensive!!!

I don't really know; it doesn't make sense. I prefer the "beef" cattle (you know, those red and white critters).
Despite all the hype, angus beef is NOT better in any way.
