Why would life be any less valuable without an afterlife? I have a few recious decades to enjoy as a conscious being - might as well make the most of them.
If you don't realize how ridiculous your question is, ask yourself: What's the point of an eternal afterlife? Why spend eternity worshipping some sky daddy? Won't it get boring after a while?

I will put it this way, my friends and my family gives my life meaning. I will not fall for anything, I am an atheist who needs people to back up what they are saying with hard evidence other than their say so or their belief. I'm not sure what the money in the pocket means, but I do happen to agree with you, if your dead, then you have no use for the money. So if someone is desperate enough for money and takes it off my dead body, let them have and I wish them to spend it in good health.

"i dont understand how people come to the conclusion that life has meaning without an afterlife"
IMO, if you bank everything on an afterlife, you have missed the whole meaning of life today. Sad to say, people waste the years that they have here on earth, counting on an afterlife. Live your life that you have now & do your best to make it a good one!

What meaning can a god give you that you can't give yourself?
I think the problem here is that you assume that athiests all try to give their life meaning, which is not the case. As an athiest, I can assure you that I don't believe my life has an objective meaning. And I'm happy with that. I'm perfectly content to say that I have no meaning at all.

Life has 'meaning' but no end 'purpose'. I'm into art, literature, music and learning of all kinds.
But I cant force myself to believe in something that can't be proven anyway. I don't know how i would spend eternity without getting bored. No perpose in that.

You're making a false assumption, therefore your "logic" is completely wrong. If you really want an answer and are not simply trying to insult, then just simply ask the question and listen to the answers. You may have better luck that way.

I stand for myself and those I care about. That gives my life meaning.
I don't believe in gods.
I believe in an "afterlife." If I didn't believe in an "afterlife," my life would still have meaning (see first statement).

How can YOU say life has meaning if you fall for the nonsense of monotheism and the belief that there is only one god, who apparently doesn't care what you do.

Because its true. If you can't find any meaning in your life without your god then you must live a very horrible life and thats just sad.

religions destroys your spirituality,,, which is your connection with nature. one of the things this give us is a sense of conscience a person not yet left the religions, who has not had his spirit healed, has no understanding or concept of CONSCIENCE.... because you and people like you don't understand what it is to have a conscience you think we can't do anything without religion.... religion itself is the world's evil... WE CAN live without it.
