Depends on your insurance company. Some companies have 'accident forgiveness' and your rates won't go up for just one ticket or accident. Check your policy or call your agent.

Depends on who you have insurance with. We had Allstate when a similar thing happened to us, our rates did go up as there was damage to the house (don't ask) so we had to pay $1000 just in dedictuables alone (house + car). Call your agent or read your policy, it will tell you. You have the right to file a claim or pay out-of-pocket. Get a quote from 2 or more sources to find out the extent of the damage, sometimes what you think should only be a grand, could be upwards of $5K.

Depends on your policy. If you haven't had any at-fault accidents in the past several years, it shouldn't go up. Also, with $1000 damage, take a look at your policy - how much is the deductable? If you have a $500 or $1000 deductable, it may make more sense to just fix it out of pocket.

Talk to your agent before actually filing the claim. They'll help you decide if filing the claim is worth it.

Your insurance will go up if your report ANY accident that's your fault.

It probably won't go up like crazy, but you will end up paying more than a thousand dollars for it in raised premiums in the long run. The question is whether or not you have the extra $1000 right now to fix it.

Unless you have Allstate with accident forgiveness yes it will go up. Any claim that you make against your insurance will raise your rates. You can call your agent & ask them how much it would go up then take the car to get an estimate decide then to turn it in. Your insurance cannot hold it aginst you unless you or your wife file a claim on it.

Yes. It is an at-fault accident. If your collision deductible is the usual $500 it's probably worth it just to not turn the claim in and pay for the damage yourself.

did you call the police? i doubt it. your rates will most likely not increase because of this since you say you had a clean record prior to it. the increase for accidents is usually due to points on your DL and since you didn't call the police, how would you accumulate pts? if this is only $1000 in damage, look to see what your ded is...if its $500, its not even worth turning in. more than allstate now offer 1st accient forgiveness also...call your agent and see what they say

call your agent, ask him.
some companies will give you something called fender bender forgiveness, some companies will charge you.
your agent has this answer.
geico, will charge you, meaning, your premium will go up.
if you have been with allstate, statefarm, nationwide, aaa so on, they may offer that forgiveness.
