I like Bush by the way. Yes, it's definately overdue. I wonder if the people hurt before this goes into affect will be able to collect.

The response from the reporter about retroactive pay....

'We just don't know yet. As I wrote in the piece, still to be decided is who will be eligible under any retroactivity provision.'

I'm tired of everybody bashing the President, it demonstrates how little people know about the operations of the our U.S. Government. No U.S. President is capable of doing anything without the willing co-operation of the two houses of the Legislative branch, the Senate and the Congress. Let's not forget the Supreme Court is suppose to kept the Executive and Legislative branches in line making sure everything they do is legal.

So the President has suggested a law that will serve to assist U.S. Servicemen and it will now up to the two houses of Legislative branch to make it law. For better or worse, no one man can affect how business is conducted in this country.

It's a good start to a massive and complicated problem. But you need to remember that this isn't the brain child of Bush, I believe that I saw Dole's name on it. I also must agree with the others. It is long overdue.
