A sin bearer is a being on whom the guilt of someone else is placed, one who accepts not only the guilt of others but also the consequences of their trangressions, thus making the punishment of the true offender unnecessary. Christ is our sin bearer.
We all need to be reminded from time to time that God hates sin, all sin. Big sins and little sins. public sins and private sins, old sins and new sins, sins against ourselves and sins against others, the sins of the youth and the sins of the elderly, weekday sins and Sabbath sins, sins of ommision and sins of commission. GOD HATES SIN!
Why does God hate sin? Because sin is contrary to the high and holy character of God. Sin is rebellion against God. Sin is disrespect for God. Sin is ingratitude to God. Sin is arrogance before God. Sin is meaness toward God. Sin is tension with God. Sin is infectious; hence, dangerous to others and lethal to the individual bearer.
Jesus came to save us from our sins, not in our sins.

Yes, Jesus took on the sins of the world . He paid the price for us to be set free. absolutely and amen. But Jesus didnt come to die so we are free to sin as many preach today. HE came that we may be free from sin. What blasphemy to say otherwise. know the Bible and know Jesus. we are commanded to live like Jesus, not just merely suggested. and we are called to overcome sin and we can, tho few teach that today. By the indwelling power of the HOly Spirit, you bet it can be done, by loving God enough to obey. Can we do this on our own? NOPE. its by the indwelling power of the HOly Spirit that we received at that cross, and yes we are called to be overcomers, bringing the truths of Jesus to the world. IF we bring Jesus and dont tell them how to overcome, what have we given them? WE must lead them to the full word of God and to see what HE says, annd show them that if we go back to sin after being saved, we will lose our free gift of salvation. Works dont save us, BUt not obeying God will lose the gift. we are saved only by the blood of Jesus, but at the time, we confess and repent and turn from sin. So if we pick sin back up, we arent still in right standing with God. Grace does not cover willful deliberate continued sin. absolutely not, not according to the Holy Bible which is the only book I use to know about God. Noone else has to do that, its choice, but its the book I use and believe in and quote from. God says obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to curse. There you go, that didnt change folks. THe redeemed are the ones that know that and will obey and count it all as joy. I loved the way you worded things I pray many will hear. we are all called, but so few will hear and answer the call, too many itchy ears hearing only what they want to hear. But you speak truth, GOd will bless you.

I don't understand why you included atheists in your question. Isn't it obvious that atheists do not believe in God or Jesus? And I've got news for you....Jews do not believe that Christ is "our" righteous sin bearer. Can you really be that insulated from the real world?

YEAH! Top dog what darwinsfriend said!
If your god is so omnipotent, why don't he eliminate your "sin" from the world? I know that's one of the oldest questions in the world, but worth a re-ask. Because I have never heard a good answer to it.

What exactly does this have to do with atheists, and why would we care? Gods and Monsters are man-made concepts. Sin is a man made concept.
Think about this- if you didn't believe in god, why would you care about sin?

Why are you including Atheists in this rubbish? We don't believe in god or sin or baby bloody Jesus.
I am starting to doubt that you are actually real as well. No one can be this consistently idiotic.

Lovely rant, but all the churches have frowned on this concept of sin bearers and sin eaters for literally centuries now. Very few places follow that concept.
And if you're addressing atheists, you have to realize they don't believe in sins like you do - sins are tied into the concept of god. They bel;ieve in moral and immoral behavior, legal and illegal behavior, but not sin.

I will never understand the arrogance of some people that they think they can speak for God and know what God hates. Poor delusional people....

What do you mean that Jesus came to save us from our sin, not in our sins???
Did Jesus not die for us while we were yet sinners. aka in sin?? Of course he saves us from sin. He forgave us for our past sin and works within us to save us from the power sin has.

Nope, I don't believe. That sort of negates the Sinless argument, though. Yeshua of Nazareth died on the cross for his inability to reconcile his views with those of the Jews. That is the reason he died. I cannot in a million years conceive of his reason for death being because Johnny Smith in Norfolk decided to steal a sweet from the candy shop.
He was executed by Jews for the crime of blasephemy. It's mind boggling to see you imagining the verdict "For the crime of all the sins everyone has or will ever commit, we sentence you to death, under order of the Praetor and Senate Council, Pontius Pilate."
