JFK consists of 4,930 acres, including 880 acres in the Central Terminal Area (CTA). The airport has more than 30 miles of roadway.
EWR consists of about 2,027 acres of which the Port Authority acquired 880 of those acres when it began operation of the airport in 1948.

Both airports feature domestic and international flights. Newark is Continental Airlines' eastern hub.
But, JFK has more acreage and carried more passengers. In 2003, the last year I have data for both airports (2003), Newark carried 29,429,000 passengers. Kennedy carried 31,732,000 passengers
