ive been searching around for new tattoo ideas, and came up with one, i would like to have some other opinions on what you think. it would be on my foot, in either caligraphy or some type of script lettering and would say in latin "Amor Est Vitae Essentia" which in english means "love is the essence of life" and on each side would be a pink/white lily (white w/ pink in middle) dont know if i did a good job explaining that or not, but if i could get some other peoples inputs that would be awesome! :o)

rfranchek-ok sure old peoples feet arent the prettiest, but neither are the rest of their bodies!!!! if every single person was worried about what it would look like when they got to be 60+ then nobody would get tattoos. im only 20, ive got plenty of years to go. but thanks for your opinion, that is why i posted the question.

i am tan so a pink with a shade of white ( just enough to bring it out ) would look good, it would be on top of my foot, i agree with the flowing cursive writing

It sounds like it will be a very nice tattoo. Depending on your complexion white may not show up too well.(I'm so pale that when I got white put in one of my tats it just looks like he forgot to color that spot.. lol) I wouldn't stress over the colors too much though, a good tattoo artist will know how to blend the colors you want so it looks awesome.
I love how tattoos look on feet and there is the added benefit of easily being able to be covered up if you need to, but also easy to show off when you want. I've thought about getting a foot tat, but I'm scared of the pain factor there.
Let me end by reminding you that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your tat... if it is special to you and you like, then that's all that matters.

the foot might be a hard area to put a tattoo on where abouts are you thinking on the foot, I am just not sure if what you are describing and the sentence would work on the foot, but when its all said and done its up to you where you want it, I would go with the pink I think to much white would be a little to bright but your the one who has to like it, I wouldn't worry about comments of what it will look like when your older, I am almost 37 have had my one tattoo since I was 24 and still don't regret getting it, my second tattoo I got years ago in honur of my two kids and I think there both beautiful good luck with your tattoo, do whats right for you.

if that is the design that appeals to you then go for it. i prefer wordless tattoos but everybody is different.
whatever design you decide on just know that in order for your foot tattoo to heal correctly you shouldn't wear socks or shoes AT ALL for two whole weeks (14 days) after getting your foot tattooed. i have both of the tops of my feet tattooed and i love them but they were extremely painful and they swole up like crazy and did take longer to heal than the rest of my tattoos. you should be able to stay off of your feet for the first couple of days to help with swelling, elevating your feet as much as possible. also know that feet tattooing is more difficult than other tattoos and you shouldn't let just any tattooer tattoo your feet. make sure it's someone who has tattooed feet before and ask to see the pictures. i have seen some really crappy foot tattoos.
good luck!

if your going to have flowers in it then go with a nice, flowing cursive font. Lots caligraphy is pretty, but full of sharp points that I dont think would go well with pretty lilys. A freehanded custom calligraphy would be nice, that flows well across/along your foot.

I have 4 on my feet & I love them! They are my fav ones!!! It will hurt some. I have 2 on my toes, 1 on the side & 1 on top. The side one hurt. Then the one on the top, then the toes. I say do it!!!! It will look great!! You can go to your tattooer & have them free hand with a pen on you foot to show different ideas of how to put it!!!
