1) yes. from the time I was laid off 2 years ago until last week when I became a permanent employee. It wasn't a always completely dry. But the showers were few and far between.

2) I've kept on, keeping on. Doing what I know is what He has told me to do being obedient even when all seems quiet. It's raining now (spiritually) (in the physical world very hot and dry.) And I'm learning how Joseph kept going on when he was tossed in a pit and when he was unjustly thrown in jail....In the midst of all that he never sinned against God.

Yes I have had times when I have been far from Him. Those were times that I had brought upon myself though. He was always with me, I just put up barriers through my selfishness.

One time in particular was a wake up call for me. There was a minor split in the church I had attended for 20 years when one of the associate pastors was unceremoniously forced out. He gave me one story and the church leaders gave me another. Obviously someone was lying, but because I had allowed my own selfishness to come between myself and a close relationship with God, I couldn't tell who was being truthful and who was not. If I had the closeness to God then that I have now, things would have been different.

What I have done is acknowledge to God that I have been far from Him and I asked Him to help me draw nearer. I attend services every Sunday, bible study on Wednesday nights, and lead a bible study group in an assisted living facility. I think surrounding yourself with the things of God and being a servant is important too. If you can, listen to Christian radio, and read your bible often. Pray for others around you and allow God to use you to make a difference in the lives of others. Do it at work, at the store, at the gas station, in your neighborhood, or wherever you are.

If you are a servant to others, God will always be near. You'll see the great things He is doing - The answered prayers, and you'll be encouraged that He is, in fact, right there with you every step of the way, everyday.

God bless you.

1.)Yes I have experienced low spells.
2.)Christian Music has helped me to regain my full faith.
Apples never fall to far from the tree. Once you experience the love of the Lord you always carry that with you. Even when you are felling like he is far away, there is always that knowledge. He will be there for you. Just wait and see.

1. Yes. I thought I was doing something wrong.

But the righteous won't be forsaken. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. No weapon formed against e shall prosper. I'm more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Brother you have to speak the word to your situation in faith because that's how we overcome anything. :) It's through our faith in Him. It's in these times generally when our faith is tested and the word of God says : James 1:3-4 (AMP)
3 Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.
4 But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

I will share with you what he shared with me today. When the devil realizes you are trying to get closer and closer to God....
he will throw literally anything he can think of in your path, to knock you back or hinder you from getting closer to God. But the more you stand firm in your situation on the Word of God that was planted in you...you will overcome that situation and have the victory in the end.

Because if God is for you...who can be against you?
You know what I mean?
And when I was in that situation....

2. I just kept seeking him more and the closer I get to Him
the more His plans (for each trial that I've endured) are revealed to me.

God can't resist tenacious faith. He will answer ALL those who cry out to Him in their hour of trouble/despair/need. Because he is a healer of broken hearts and a friend to the afflicted.
Cast ALL your cares on Him for He cares for you. It's that faith that lets you know he's there to begin with. And it's that faith that lets you know He'll be there till the end.
God Bless you.

1. Yes. Before I went through that period though, the Lord kept giving me Psalm 63 but I had no idea what it meant. Please read it.. the part where it says "you satisfy me more than the richest of foods" meant so much to me because it reminded me of how bears store up food for their hibernation. The Lord had stored up His word and promises in me so that during my desert, I would be sustained. In David's Psalm, you can feel how badly he wants to be close to the Lord again-which was my cry also.
2. You just have to stand on what you know to be the truth, not feelings or emotions. Hang in there, read the Word, stay around other believers and let them be your Aaron and Hur. (when Moses arms were tired during one of he fights between the Isrealites and Amalikites -I think- they held up his arms for him. As long as his arms were up in the air the Isrealites were winning their battle, but if he dropped them- they would start to lose.)

Yes, I get dry myself, when I get too busy or preoccupied.

I have to admit that I get frustrated in my own life. I want to grow up and be as mature of a Christian as possible, but there are times when I don't want to put forth the effort that is required to reach that goal. There are times when I don't want to read my Bible. There are times when I don't want to pray. There are times when I don't want to go to church. I know, though, that in order to grow in the Lord I must do those things.

Sometimes it is a struggle and other times it is an all-out war raging between my flesh and my spirit. Each time I overcome my flesh I am moving closer to perfection. It is hard at times, but it is worth it.

My solution is to stop, even a nice activity like this, and give a tithe of my/your time to the One who gave ALL for me/you!

Yes, but I have never given up in prayer. And I notice when I never doubt God- He comes through- may not be the answer I want, but the best part is, it is the answer I needed!
But yes, He draws me close to Him when I am in constant prayer. Many times I say to myself " Hey I deserve to be unanswered! I do not deserve God to answer back so quickly, who am I to think I deserve all His blessings?" -- I remind myself of what HE did, and how I do not deserve it, and yet I remind myself of how much He loves me- and chooses to bless me when He wills. He chooses to answer me and help me because He loves me. WOW. So it blows me away each time I think about that. I know I need God daily. I know He knows how much I need Him and want Him to be active in my life. And so I continue to wait on Him-- no matter how long something takes for me to receive an answer or confirmation--- I know He is always with me. And I see Him work in my life unexpectedly so much! Those are the times I am just amazed- as I stand in awe of Him.
Lamentations 3:25 says "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him"

Every True Christian at some point experince that, I do after being a Christian for 37 yrs. That reminds me of a story, This Christian was walking on the beach & he was so happy in the Lord, that as he look down he saw 2 sets of footprints in the sand, His & the Lord's, Then one day he became very low, & wonder where God was at, & he looked down & saw only one set of footprints, & he cried out God where are you, You have let me walk this valley by myself, Because I see only one set of footprints, Then the Lord spoke to him & said, I have never left thee alone, When you only saw one set of footprints, that was me carrying you through your trials.

1) Absolutely; I think it's normal. But I don't view it as a "God problem," I view it as a "me problem," if you understand my meaning.

2) The Scriptures recommend a good, ol' fashioned fast when earnestly seeking God. Also, examine your prayer and thought life carefully to be sure there's nothing you're doing that has distanced you from Him. Be diligent in prayer and Bible study; think about the Scriptures frequently -- really contemplate their meaning. I find that many of the Psalms are great for contemplation. James 4:8a promises that if you "draw near to God and He will draw near to you" -- a very wise piece of advice.

1. Yes.
2. Keep trusting that He would help, if I was really in trouble. He let me sort it out and my faith grew.
