I took a girl out for a very nice ($$$) dinner. We got dressed up, sat a secluded table, and had a wonderful meal. After dinner, I suggested we stop at a pub and have a cocktail for a nightcap. Half-way through our drinks, a guy who was a friend of hers invited her to do a shot with him. She left where we were sitting, sat next to him across the bar, and proceeded to do two shots with him.

After 10 minutes when she was still across the bar, I felt very slighted. I told her I was leaving. She said she wanted to stay, so I told her to get a cab home.

Was I that much of an *** for doing that?

Half way into

No sir. It was crappy of her to leave you to visit with an old friend during your date, but fortunately you get to learn this about her fairly early on. Wash you hands of her, and move on to someone with more sense. And good for you for only sitting there for 10 minutes before leaving. Never allow anyone to waste your time!

The correct way to handle that situation would be to walk over there after a few minutes, introduce yourself, and see what the heck she is doing with this guy. Not so blatently of course, but it always scores big points to introduce yourself to her friends. After introducing yourself, maybe sticking around for a few minutes, get her to come back to your table with you.

Now I know why I don't go out on dates. You are both in-considered and immature.
