I'm just curious because I've been applying and haven't gotten a single response. I've changed my resume, applied for jobs beneath my skill level & experience; in short I've done everything to try to get a response but got none.

Yes. My last job was found through Monster.com. In my case, a recruiter was searching the resume's posted on the site and came across my resume, which fit his client's needs.

When looking for a job, its always best to use as many resources as possible. Use the sites like Monster, but also check local classifieds and network by telling your friends and family that you're looking.

Good luck with your job search!

The answer is NO! I have never gotten a job through monster.com, nor would i ever refer anyone else to it! I did the same thing you did and more! Changed my resume, took jobs beneath my skill level, and dialed until my fingers bled! In college, i was a Business major. When i graduated, i had trouble finding work at stable companies through them. I never got called, never got hired, and came to the conclusion that monster.com is nothing more than just a waste of time! Do you have time to sit by a phone all day and wait for these bitches to call? I don't think so! Not while your bills continue to pile up! What you want to do is to stop all contact with monster.com unless you are sure there is a guarantee out there for you to get a job that you applied for through them. What i truly hate is while you're out here hunting for a job that you want, you got a million MF's going for the same thing you are! Sometimes, the level of competition is so fierce it makes you want to stop looking or throw up your hands altogether! It's also why some individuals are being selective about the kinds of jobs that they take because nobody wants to take on something temporary and then get sent packing weeks later! You want to find something permanent and stable so you don't keep falling into a rut week after week and then finding out how to dig yourself out time and time again!

In short, Monster.com is a waste of time! You're better off trying a site with less competition and lesser wait time.

I'm at my current job in Saudi Arabia because of Monster.com - I'm a mechanical/project engineer making a decent living working overseas. I posted my resume and got 3-4 calls a day (on busy days). Most of the jobs were domestic, but I was looking for international work. I got several interviews and two offers. One for Nigeria, and one for Saudi.

I also got my last job from Monster. It was in Houston, and it was a great job that I'd still be at today if hadn't wanted to work internationally instead.

The secret to getting lots of interest on Monster is key-words. If your resume has lots of good searchable keywords, the head hunters and recruiters won't stop calling you.

Keep trying and you'll find the rigtht job.

Good luck with your search

The odds of getting a job through monster are low. It will not hurt to keep trying but don't count on it.
I used a career consulting service when I was looking and they thought me how to become more marketable. They have a new business blog at Careerkit.blogspot.com with a link to their business site.
Good luck

No one I know has gotten a job from that site, including me. Remember, you're competing against thousands of people for a single job. If I were you, look for job posted in a local or regional sites. Good luck.

Yes and No.

I was contacted by a job agency who found my aresume
on monster and offered my a position.

Wont hurt and doesnt cost anything.

Word of mouth to friends and family is still the best way.
