I think so. My great-grandmother had "visions". She used to say they're like road signs. Like, you can be driving on Interstate 4 in Florida, and there's a sign saying you'll be in Orlando in 50 miles. Only you don't necessarily have to go to Orlando, do you? You can go 25 miles, or 100, or 500, on that road. You can turn left or right. You can reverse. You can have your tires blow out because you don't maintain them. All kinds of things can happen!
So it is with your visions. All they are are road signs saying, "If you stay on this road you're on and keep going in the direction you're going..." In fact, they wouldn't be much good if you couldn't take encouragement from them or change course!

Not at all. We have free will as it affects our own choices in life. God's prophecies have always been fulfilled and always will be.
Speaking of his "word" - Isaiah 55:11 " ... It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted and it will have certain success in that for wihch I have sent it."

SOme prophesies are meant as warnings to change. Ninevah was warned that they would be destroyed if they continued living in rampant sin. They repented and God didn't destroy them immediately. They went back to sin and the city was eventually destroyed.

No, them trying to prevent it would probably cause it to happen. Depends on who the prophesy is by
