Something memorable and easy to pack/ship. Perhaps some photo enlargements without frames.
I used to live in another country and it was so annoying - people constantly giving me large or breakable stuff.

find out what country, see if they need electric plug adapters.
other countries have different electrical outlest than us.
you can get these kits at travel stores and travel shopping sites.
