I am very firm on many issues regarding God, yet I realize that I don't know it all.

I am confident on both, but I read constantly. Faith alone is a good thing but if you don't read and listen to lectures to learn more you can become stagnant.
I am reading a book on the 33 Doctors of the Church and I find that these men and women were all very intelligent not only in the religious field but many were scientists and
always checking and rechecking theories. Some were mystics and they seemed to have 'darkness of the soul' questioning and concerns were a constant within their confidence in God and the doctrines of the Church.
If we did not have these testimonies and histories of saints, and others, before us we would think we were the only ones with questions and worries.. the more you read the more you grow in faith.

I was given a gift of faith, so I take no credit for my belief in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, and the atonement for my sin. All I did was accept His gift. I have had many years to study, and I have been blessed with good teachers. I learned much about agape love while ministering on the streets of Chicago. I was given a love for the hurting. Sometimes, God gave me eyes to see the former beauty of women and men living on the streets, dieing of AIDS, Hepatitis, and just plain wasting away from drugs, having lost all interest in food. Nothing will change what God showed me during that time. I love Him for teaching me how to love. I still love to study. God gave me a gift of discernment, and false doctrine hurts my spirit. I do not hate, but a watered down, bloodless gospel has not the power to save. If I have not love, I have nothing.

I suppose I agree with the songwriter, the late Rich Mullins, "He will never break His promise, though the stars should break faith with the sky."
I have been a Christian for a long time and I am a diligent student of the Scriptures. I have also been through some very difficult situations and God has stood with me and pulled me through - giving my relationship deeper intimacy and giving me more assurance.
I have often prayed for God to reveal any doctrine that isn't true but that I am following - and to lead me (as he promised) into truth.
I am very confident ---- but always willing to be shown any error in doctrine.

I am firm in my beliefs and extremely confident in God. Not that he will make my life all roses and sunshine, but in the fact that I know He knows what he is doing, even if I don't understand.
How Knowledgeable am I? Quiet knowledgeable, but there is still so much I don't know. I do need to study the Bible more. There is always something to learn.

I'm not a scholar when it comes to the Bible. I know some scriptures and Bible stories and their meanings. My belief in God is based mostly on what faith and prayer has done for me
personally in my life. I can't give you solid proof one way or the other I can only say "this is what has happened to me....."

After going to Catholic school from kindergarten through college, I would say that I am quite knowlegdable about the teachings of the Bible and the Catholic Christian God.
But do I believe that everything in the Bible and everything that the Church says is unequivically true??
Oh no. I do have a brain and I can think for myself thankyouverymuch.
