I think its fairly obvious that God didn't make her invincible because he had her go hide out at her cousin's home and he told Joseph to marry her. These were things that were obviously done to keep her from getting stoned to death for having extra-marital sex, (I think its pretty likely that the neighbors would not have fallen for the "I'm a virgin, God did this to me" story).
Its kind of ironic that God would have had to take steps to protect someone from laws he supposedly put in place himself.
Beyond that, the Bible doesn't really specify any back-up plans God would have had, so there is no real reason to have any opinions one way or the other.
Although, maybe if Jesus had gotten killed early on, God would have just used John the Baptist as a pinch-hitter. Then the Christians would ALL be Baptists, I suppose. They would also be saying, "John got his head cut off for your sins."
Hm, instead of having his disciple put their finger into the hole in his hand where nail went, (like Jesus supposedly did with Thomas to prove he was legit), I guess John would have had to prove he really came back from having his head chopped off by taking off his head and just handing it to Thomas.

Good point. I'd like to add a couple:
4. Did God take away Mary's free will when she was impregnated? Did she have a choice in being part of ''God's plan'' in the first place?
5. Did God take away Mary's free will and make her incapable of taking her own life?

None of the above scenarios apply.
Young Jewish women waited for and longed to be the vessel God used to bring Messiah into the world.
Among all the young women, Mary had a direct blood-line to King David, and interestingly, so also did her husband, Joseph.
If you follow the blood-lineage from Adam to King David, you find that God went to GREAT lengths to protect the purity of the blood-line, and provide a kingly lineage for Messiah Jesus, as prophesied in the Old Testament (Torah).
Mary did not lose her free will. God made her willing, and hence a woman to be called "Blessed" for all eternity.
God's protection of the blood-line extended to her, and to the Babe she bore. As a human woman, her health and her full-term pregnancy were a by-product of God's provisional protection for His only human-born (begotten) Son.

Let's see. You say "Most Christians believe that Mary was part of God's plan to bring Jesus into the world"....
Um.....is DUH a correct response? I think it would be fair to say ALL Christians believe that.
#1: I doubt that Mary was either invincible or immortal during her pregnancy, but it's possible. I do think, obviously, that God would have had all his angels following her around making sure she was safe and/or otherwise provided her with supernatural protection. After all, she was carrying the savior of the world.
#2: No, nobody lost their free will. I'm not sure why anyone would want to kill a woman from nowhere riding on a donkey to Bethlehem.... And I'm sure that she probably got sick just like the rest of us, and had labor pain, etc., etc.....
#3: No, God did not have a backup plan. While Mary DID have free will to say no, God KNEW (omniscient) she would say yes.

All Christians believe that Mary is part of God's plan to bring our saviour into the world. But not all Christians give the same amount of respect to her. Pity huh? In this time of gender equality, we should give more credit to her. And I thought we already HAVE reformed...

There was no reason for someone of that time to mug a pregnant woman, and if they did, they'd probably get stoned as soon as they were found. And miscarriages only occur infrequently, and God would have made the body of Jesus not prone to things such as this, maybe

The Bible does not explain but the Bible does show that God does protect and that would be the only necessary thing God would need to do. Many Children were given by God not simply his son. Issac was also born by degree of God and this protection would have also been given. God is all knowing and would have foreknown if there was to be a problem would he not?

None of the above.
God Created Mary pure and free from sin so that she could be worthy of carrying His Son. Then He kept her safe from danger with His angels. If she hadn't accepted this vocation, then our redemption would not have happened.
Thanks be to thee Holy Mother of God for giving us your only Son!

I don't see any of your options as being viable. God just watched over her and made sure nothing happened that would stop the birth of her child.
If he was that controlling he would have made sure that she had reservations in a nice hotel instead of having to give birth in a manger.
