Could it be that the "atheist" can't find God, for the same reason a thief can't find a policeman? Could it be that your love for sin is clouding your good judgment?

If you are plugging your ears, you will never hear the voice of God. If you willingly pull a veil over your eyes you will never see his face.

It's not a LACK of evidence. It's an ignorance of the evidence.

Dear Lord Jesus,
I pray for all who have and will answer this question and those that even contemplate doing so.
I thankyou that You are a Good God, a God of Love and Hope and your Mercy is New Every Morning.
Please take the scales off these peoples eyes and the muffs from their ears, soften their hearts and I pray that ou would send your angels into battle for their precious, blessed souls.
Also I pray that your ministering angels would encamp around these people and they would come to know you Lord God as their Savior, their Christ and have the life you have planned for them, and that is in it's entirety.
Praise you Lord, my precious King, for your Love for All people*
Blessed be your Name Forever,
In Jesus Name ,
Amen

I also thankyou that your word goes out and achieves that which the purpose for what you sent it and it never returns to you void.

CHRISTIANS: do you have an ulterior motive??
Could it be that the "christians" can't find more than one god, for the same reason a thief can't find a policeman? Could it be that your love for sin is clouding your good judgment?

If you are plugging your ears, you will never hear the voices of the many gods. If you willingly pull a veil over your eyes you will never see their faces.

It's not a LACK of evidence. It's an ignorance of the evidence.

And, pray tell, WHAT is the evidence, and where? A book written a few thousand years ago (by people!) does not constitute evidence of a supernatural being such as God.
And thieves can, I'm sure, find plenty of policemen if need be. I'm not a thief, but if I were, I'd still see them driving down the road every day. I'd most probably try to evade them, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't be able to find them. Can you elaborate on that metaphor?
Where does the ulterior motive come in?

Lol-There's this book called 'Misquoting Jesus'. The author started out as a 'born again' and went to Moody, then whatever Billy Grahams' Alma mater was, then to Princeton. He graduated each college and even had the Book of Mark memorized in Greek. He had his 'eyes open' (by your def. seeing as how he started out very devout) but the lack of evidence and the number of inconsistencies finally cleared the veil of darkness you're apparently suffering from so he could come to terms with reality and 'see the light'. His name is Bart Ehrman and he is, by far, not the only devout Christian turned atheist b/c of evidence.
What's that phrase?...'Pot calling the kettle black'?
BTW, an alterior motive? Not really. It's just learned behavior of social animals to want to communicate any information they find relevant.

No, but Christians do. You only believe because you are afraid in case there is Hell. Why would an atheist have an ulterior motive? Your God gave you brains I see!

And if I heard the voice of God I'd get myself straight around to the psychiatrist.

And finally,it is not ignorance of the evidence (the Bible) its lack of it. It's lack of any credibility in the Bible. It's lack of none delusional thinking that makes me not believe in God.

Next same question that's been asked over and over and that expects us to go, there is a God this fellow says so. Look, he quotes the Bible it must be true!

I was once an on-fire Christian zealot. Now I am an atheist. And I assure you, if there were good reasons to remain a Christian I'd still be one. I fought it kicking and screaming, but at the end of the day, Christianity doesn't make sense. Science and reason are at odds with it, and have been winning the culture wars for centuries, forcing Christians to reform or water down their beliefs decade after decade. Soon, nobody will take Christianity seriously except for uneducated third world peasants, and the pope.

What Sin are you talking about??? I paid that parking ticket over 25 years ago.

It is a lack of evidence. If you have credible evidence present it. If all you have is an ignorance of modern science, and an ancient book containing talking animals then I am not impressed.

Whatever. I still don't see anyone posting evidence. If you got some, put it up. But negative evidence for any scientific theory is never going to be evidence of a god.

Evidence for a god is evidence for a god. It doesn't matter if I don't have the slightest idea how the universe or life got here. That still wouldn't mean that it HAD to be a magical sky faerie that did it. Let alone that it was your sky faerie in particular.

So if you got some, post it. Otherwise you are just talking out your butt.

I would be deemed an atheist by most all religions for one simple reason, I do not go to church. I still study the bible, and believe in God, however, I don't think any mortal man has the right to make interpretation of God's word (as we are ALL sinners).

I'm sorry that you like to simplify people, and create judgments that are not yours to create.

You know, God's Elect. The majority of Atheists are model citizens. They obey the laws, most accept the evidence on Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs and refuse to do them, most accept the evidence on global warming and do what they can to assuage the damage. Atheists, in general, have no need of plugging our ears. The majority of us obey the golden rule, and for that we don't commit adultery, we certainly aren't idol worshippers. For most of us, our only constant and recurring sin, is failure to believe.
This is because we are beings of reason, and compassion. Where you would accept Moses' order to rape little girls in Numbers 22:17-18 as an unfortunate historical necessity, we see it as an abomination.
We're the Chaplains of Morality here, God's Elect, not you. We condemn evil where we see it, we speak out against tyranny and injustice where you just abide, and wait patiently--so very patiently for Jesus to save you from it.
So before you go about thinking that we're sinners afraid of our eternal retribution, take a good hard look in a mirror. Maybe your faith is just an excuse to save you from your sins, the mistakes you made that you're not proud of--that you want freedom from. And the only recourse, the only freedom you can possibly get from your demons is the fact that Jesus died on a cross to free you from them. That he forgives you.

A strong rising scent of BS in your accusation there, you know with the old thief/policeman kakology.

I mean, who put the anal in your ology?

Who cares? Your 'question' (it was actually a thinly veiled accusation) is both an insult to atheists, and more importantly (foryou), to your own religion.

Just nasty.
