Can you beat this Airline Horror Story?

I had a bad experience last winter. I was flying to the west coast and got caught in my connection City for three days. I missed my connecting flight and they told me that everything was booked for three days. They blamed my late flight and not making the connection on the weather, so there was no Hotel offered, or refund. My hotel on the west coast was prepaid so I lost that money. I told them to just send me home instead. That was not possible because my ticket would not allow me to fly home from that connecting city until three days later. I had to pay for a hotel in the connecting city for three days, take the flight to the west coast three days later and then fly home right away. Can you beat this Airline horror story?

Weather stinks and when it happens like this it's awful. I was never aware of how weather affects air travel allover until working for the airlines. You are not alone in your misery, I've had to rebook under these circumstances a few times and it stinks!
One thing that puzzles me though is that I would happily send a passenger back home, so I'm surprised your airline would not do so, unless of course those flights we also over booked due to weather.
Sorry about your poor experience :(

Don't many cities have a service called Travelers Aid International? They help people out who are stranded, hopeless, runaways and in emergency situations? I've never stopped to ask what exactly they do as I've always been fortunate to make my connections. Hell, I've been placed on competitors airlines several times but that was not an issue with weather. I try to avoid connections in cities that are notorious for bad weather, even if I have to pay more.

Was it your fault you missed the conection or the airline's??
Was it the poor weather condition?
You do not mentioned anything about it.
You should have gone to another airline and ask for a transfer, which means they would honor your ticket and maybe asking for a small fee.

if it was the airlines fault -- not yours or "act of god" -- they should have put you on another flight even if it was a different airline. you can pursue reimbursement.

next time get deal only w/ a manager....insist!!!!!!
