they would rather type a question
wait for 3 days to get answers
instead of spending 2 minutes using their manual
also, they like to spell words incorrectly
instead of using the spell check

A lot of people are new to digital. Reading the manual is one thing. Understanding what you are reading is quite another. They are not stupid or lazy. They are unfamiliar with how digital works. Most of us older folks were accustomed to placing a roll of film into a typical point & shoot camera, and doing just that.....pointing & shooting. There were very few things to do. Now you have scene modes. ISO settings to ajust. Compression settings, megapixels settings, light metering, different types of focusing, movies, transferring from the camera to the computer....on and on. So, if someone asks for a little help, remember, at one time, you too were asking questions. Lighten up. It's all for fun.

never have never will RTFM(read the freakin' manual) is the answer to most problems although I have to admit jappenglish can be a tricky language most especially if you dont have a photo background to begin with. that simple question to you is greek to them they know what they want to ask but cant recognise the answer in the middle of the manual
then you have the main problem with most cameras; it's an ESO problem equipment superior to operator this often requires a patient knowledgable salesperson and even then sometimes it cant be corrected

some americans are straight up lazy. I read that the Sony Clies (PDAs using Palm OS) left the market b/c of ALL their features (voice recorder, bluetooth, wifi, vid cam, still cam, adding pictures to your contacts, memos, calendar, etc., Office/PDF reader), users were just to lazy to learn how to utilize all of it and got prematurely frustrated.
Else, reading a manual can be daunting. Those who don't know that u can search through the online versions of them, nor know that manuals contian an index will have trouble looking for what they want. Even then, it's still easy to overlook things. Sometimes not EVERYTHIGN is covered.

I'll agree for the most part is laziness; but I have seen parts of camera instruction manuals quite vague. I mean the translation into English is not good. It would help if everybody had a tiny concept of photography.

Maybe they might have read the manual but wouldn't have understood what was written .
Also the manual might have been misplaced.
They might have purchased the product second-hand and the seller did not have the manual.

LOL! My feelings exactly.
I suppose its easier to have someone else do it for them. Perhaps it is what they are used to.
