no two jobs are alike, some jobs that are exactly the same but at different companies make all the difference in the world. i work at a hospital and many of the guys i work with have tattoos on their arms. none of my tattoos are visible at work so i don't know how they feel about females with visible tattoos but if guys can have them so can i.
my husband is a fireman and they can have visible tattoos as long as they aren't considered to be offensive however the city that neighbors ours does not allow ANY visible tattoos at all.
i used to work at blockbuster video and they don't allow any visible tattoos or piercings (other than the ears) and they also made me dye my hair a normal color (it was purple).
the point is that each company has their own rules and some companies vary because of the area of the country they are in. it seems like california and many places up north have a much more lenient policy on tattoos. while in the south they are still fairly frowned upon.
good luck!

As long as your tattoos dont go past your wrist and a long sleeve shirt can cover them up then a employer has no right to judge you over weather you or not you can have that job becuase of tattoos, I have eleven tattoos all over, including the backside of my hand, wich was the stupidest thing i done, yes i know i was young and stupid and addicted to tattoos, well is still am, I work for Lawton Public Schools in Oklahoma, and i was hired, they do look at appearance, but they cant use your tattoos as an excuse not to hire you if you can cover them up
hope this helps,
i dont knwo where you live, but some states could be a little different, a rule of thumb, if a state has tattoo palors in them, than that 99% discludes employers to disquaulify your for a position cuase of inkwork, the 1% is they can if you have tattoos on your neck and hands or fingers

Sadly they can, which really bugs me I have 2 one on the left hand side of my chest and one on my left ankle.
I worked in a well respected hotel for 6 1/2 years and managed to keep mine covered.
Personally I don't see why having a tattoo should matter, as long as you are doing your job properly, I'm no thug I'm a girly with an attitude yes, but tattoo's don't make you a bad person.

I did work in accounting and consulting with tattoos and never had a problem. I even switched jobs with said tattoos. I was lucky that I worked for people who judged me on my job performance and not my body mods. Not everyone is as open minded about such things. But if you can do your job without dealing with the public, I think that will help your chances if you have visible tattoos.

Just dont work for someone who is going to make you censure yourself. I live in an area way more open to visible tattoos and I know not one person fired or denied a job because of their ink or piercings. I do know alot of people with that 'punk rock attitude' that dont get jobs because of how they carry themselves...
...so long sleeves and a positive attitude, you'll get yourself any job.

in some companies yes. but not always. that rarely happens out where i live... i know a person who is tattooed quite a bit, and he has a steady job and is doing well! so i wouldn't say that you could be thrown out of every interview because of a tattoo or piercing. you just try to cover them up...
hope this helps!

They do make tattoo cover-up kits that you can use. They're pretty expensive though but it would be good to use on an interview or if you don't want to wear a long sleve shirt. Women mainly use them for weddings and such. It shouldn't affect your job though depending on what you do and where you work. Good luck!!

Your job opportunities will be limited if you have visible tattoos.
I would not hire someone who had one or was not willing to cover.

they shouldn't because just because you have a tattoo doesn't mean that you're a bad worker, but unfortunately, sometimes people are quick to judge so they do.
