Contact the plan administrator and discuss it with them. No one will get angry at you, you have a right to drive as much as anyone. There may be a way that you can adapt your car to your chair, or vice-versa. There are a number of gadgets available that go on the roof, in the rear, in the trunk or other locations, you only have part of the solution, the car. Now you need the rest of the equation to complete the process.
Good luck and hang in there, a solution is there.

Most disability agencies will only change the car if its requirements are not being meet (ie, your lack of space for wheelchair adaptation) but you will need to re-apply stating all the facts, maybe even the measurements (or lack of in this case) and if pos doctors/professionals concerns over lack of space, but it can be a lengthy process as your requirements (as far as the agency are concerned) should had been meet first time round when you applied.... be prepared to kick up a bit of fuss, and dont take a first answer!! good luck

If your car was supplied by Motability then I suggest you phone them and ask their advice. My wife has such a car and, as she was nearing the end of her 3 year lease period and was now suffering from a terminal disease I wanted to extend the lease.
Although it was an unusual request, it was solved with no problems.
I find that they are only too keen to help with unusual problems

I would have though there was a way to change it. Contact the company concerned and talk with them, I'm sure they will help you sort out the problem.
