what do you mean? like how long should you exercise? like at least 30 min a day

The more GENTLY you exercise, the longer you can keep going safely.

Some exercises make you tired, and these can be dangerous. As you tire, your judgement and co-ordination get worse, so you can get injured very easily.

Ordinary activities also use your muscles. So you are really exercising all the time, but you don't CALL it exercise unless you go to a gym, sweat a lot, or breathe hard.

Ideally, your daily activities should ALL be hard enough to be called 'exercise', BUT gentle enough to keep going without stopping.

Most exercises are self-limiting. You get tired and need to stop. However, it is possible for very determined people to ignore their body's warnings (pain, dizziness, feeling light-headed) and keep exercising at a level that will damage them. This is a common symptom of Anorexia, although it is sometimes called 'Exerexia', and treated as a different problem.

There is a limit to how much you should exercise. However, it is not a quantitative answer. There is no magic number of hours per week you can go. Your body will tell you when you are over trained. You will run an increased risks of illness and injury by pushing too hard.

The best way to avoid over training is to monitor your resting heart rate. Take your heart rate first thing every morning before you get out of bed. Determine what is normal for you. If your heart rate is elevated above normal one morning then you have reached your limit. Your body has not yet recovered from the previous day's exercises. You should take an easy day or a rest day depending on how much it is elevated. My resting heart rate is 46. If my morning rate is 50ish I take an easy day, if it is high fifties I will rest completely. Over training is just as bad as under training. I've been there.

Once I learned this technique I train less and race faster.

When exercising with the purpose of gaining muscle I exercises for 30 to 40 minutes. This is the ideal length of time for gaining muscle (something to do with hormone levels I think) exercising for longer than this holds no advantages and exercising for longer than an hour is actually less effective.

When doing cardiovascular exercise I stick to the same 30 to 40 minute rule when doing low intensity cardio. However, I this time roughly in half if I am doing very high intensity cardio.

I weight train four days a week, do cardiovascular exercise two days a week and take one day off. However, I exercise mainly for the purpose of building muscle so this may not be entirely relevant to your needs.

Hope that's of some help to you

there is no limit unless you have a specific goal in mind. e.g. if you want to be a body builder, you do not want to be running for an hour a day as you will never put the weight require on.
If you want to be SAS fit or a marathon runner type, you need to put in as many hours a day as you can.
The intensity of the exercise is also relevant.
If you are looking to gain strength and power, you need to give your body time to recover, as the process of lifting weights can often be to break down existing muscle so that it can regenerate stronger.
And of course, if you are a world class rugby player, your body will have different limits and recovery times to those of an overweight housewife!
Decide what you want to acheive from the exercise and ask the question again is my advice.

Minimum 30 minutes daily, maximum maybe 3-5, if your doing a long hike or a long run, but this shouldn't be daily, only once a week or so. Working out too much can be very bad for you, working out too little isn't effective. Working out twice a day a couple of times a week can also be effective but be sure and give your body a day or two during the week to recover. You can't build your muscles if your always tearing them down and not allowing them time to heal and build.

Well I exercise five times a week for one hour. I only joined a gym five months ago and I have never felt so good. I think you need to change your exercise around so you can give your muscles a rest.

I hope you enjoy it like I do.

You can do CV 7 days a week, the limit is really your own endurance. Weights should be limited to a maximum of 5 days in 7 to allow any muscle damage to recover.

Minimum requirement is 30 minutes a day, five days a week. And you can break this up into two fifteen minute sessions if possible. I ususally exercise an hour every morning whenever possible.

Once a day for about half an hour each time should be enough!
