It's not necessary for an atheist to believe in anything. We're not a religion with prescribed beliefs.
However, one does not "believe" in scientific theories. The theory of evolution is very well-confirmed, and really isn't doubted by the vast majority of people who understand it. I have never met an atheist who doesn't accept the evidence behind the theory of evolution (although some may exist, of course).

Not at all. Unlike Theists, and Christians in particular, we do not all think alike. We have varying degrees of education and opinion.
It is however, the best theory we have currently to explain the evolution of life. But as a theory it is being added to and changed as different people make new discoveries. That is the fundamental difference between science and religion.
Science is fluid and moves and grows with new experience. Religion is dead, and cold. It just sits there, offering nothing as evidence, but expecting everything.

No, it is not.
Evolution is the theory that fits the evidence best. However, it is still possible that some other evidence might later present itself which offers better evidence. Though, since we've seen evolution happening first hand, I don't really expect that.
The only inherent commonality between atheists is our lack of belief in any gods. That position does tend to give atheists certain outlooks on life, but it is more of a trend than a requirement.

No. An atheist is simply someone who denies or disbelieves in the existence of a supreme being or beings. Being atheist does not necessarily mean you believe in the theory of evolution..They may, for example, have their own personal theory of how life came to be. They may not have ANY theory of how life came to be.

The theory of evolution dates to the 19th century, but there were atheists long before that. So theoretically no, but now that we know about evolution, it would be bizarre not to believe in it and yet be an atheist.

I have actually met an atheist who was not convinced of evolution. But to be fair, she didn't seem to be very educated in biology.
She went to the same Christian school as me, by the way. I met her years later. She kept in contact with other classmates (I hadn't). Apparently our school was pretty good at producing atheists. Their formula is simple, even if the consequences were unintended: require students to study the Bible. That will make an atheist out of anyone with a brain.

No,it is not needed. An atheist need not believe anything as far as I can tell.Since a fool is by definition lacking in wisdom and ignores the obvious:I would think that do not need evolution.
It seems to be a palliative for the mind to them however.
I would think that 95% of atheists do believe in evolution.

It's not necessary but I don't know what other theory of our existence you can think of.
It's either creation(which atheists don't believe in god so that is ruled out) or it's evolution.

it's not necessary for anyone to believe in everything. however - the majority of atheist (such as myself) do believe in the evolution theory. if you are a true, die hard atheist; you would read and study. find faults in religion and find truth in science. for someone asking this question - is not ready to make such a commitment

No...in regards to anything you believe...believe it because that is WHAT you believe.
And an atheist is simply a person who does not believe in god. It has nothing to do with evolution.
But in any light....you should believe what ever you believe to be true regardless of whether it interferes with your religous beliefs. Only you can decide what is right or wrong in your mind.
Hope I helped.
