I've decided to go with the option of adding a MP3 CD Changer to a BMW Business System cassette head as i don't won't to ruin the look of the dashboard. However i am not sure whether the existing head can play MP3 CD players.

Does anyone know whether it will be an issue. (If possible i will also add a connector so that i can play my ipod).

HI

the business head unit with the appropreate adaptor and cd changer/mp3 changer will play mp3's, the difficulty is that it will not allow for folder recognition so all songs on one cd will merge into one album effectively.

I did the same in my alfa and it was acceptable, far better then a cd changer

Also you can only add one accessory at a time, so either ipod interface or cd changer.

Personally if you have the ipod then use this as not only is it cheaper but you can control music from ipod also,

Hope this helps

Most CD changers send an FM signal to the head or the head has to be tuned to a certain FM station that the changer is tuned to---should not be a problem.
The12volt.com has lots of info on installation and other issues. Or consult with some local stereo installers.

No it wont be a problem because you can get a CD changer with an FM modulator so you pick up the cd player through your radio. As for the Ipod, cant help you there
