If you were given £5 million tax-free, but the condition was that a clairvoyant would tell you when and where you were going to die, would you go for it?

tough call.

I think I would be very tempted. I guess you wouldn't have to work so would enjoy whatever time you had left.

If you said £10,000 then im not so sure...

Sure then I would not be at the place I was to die at the time, so much for the 100% accuracy. Hey where is my money. Dang must have been stolen by the Psychic, thats all they do 100%. Seriously I do not believe there si a 100% accurate clairvoyant. Besides the one that knows when and where I will die is Jesus so I am not afraid. In His time I will die in this body to be given a new body in Heaven. I get rid of the Earth-suit and get my Heavenly Body. No pain, no defects. Just a glorified body.

Dude, this is simple. All you do is get the 5 Mill first then give the clairvoyant 1 Mill to not tell you. Simple.

But to put it simply money isn't everything. If you're going to get £5 million or any amount of money it should be through work. Or inspiration or ideas or talents. But if you want that 5 Mill that's up to you.

Sure because clairvoyants have no real powers.

Edit: Ok, sure, I'd just make sure I enjoyed every minute I had, then I'd make arrangements to die a different way than what the clairvoyant said. I'd make sure I'd be in a completely different part of the world.

Certainly not I would have nothing to do with any clairvoyant for any amount of money, My trust is only in God, and seeing Clairvoyants is against God.Clairvoyants deal with God's enemies.

Definitely take the money. I am not afraid of knowing when I would die. I could plan my funeral and book all the musicians and have a big wake with a little of all that money.
My grandmother told me that she would die some 10 days before she actually did die. She wanted to go and visit her sister and some friends before she died. She asked my mother to go with her, but she refused, saying that my gran did not really know she was going to die. So she asked me and I went on a wonderful trip visiting all her friends and relatives. The night before she died, she attended a golden wedding anniversary party, and spoke to some people she had not seen for 40 years. The following morning, she passed away gently in her sleep, I was with her and my great aunt also. My mother was unhappy because she had not been there, but she had chosen to disregard the information.

I don't think the question is really about the money, but rather about if you would want to know when and where you would die.

Having lived within this realm of possibility for 2 years (My husband has incurable lymphoma), I find this is not a simple question. There are days he would rather not know that he is dying, so he could go on and live his life like it was before. And then he has days that he is glad he knows, so that he may enjoy every moment of the life he has left.

But I find that no matter how wonderful the day has been, I always come back to thinking that it is one less day he has.

So the question is would you REALLY be able to live with knowing you are dying? Would that money be enough to quiet the inner turmoil that every day you live is one less day you have to live?

And yet I still do not know the answer to your question, Dave.

Yes,probably. Clairvoyants can be wrong! In any case the money would be useful to my wife and children.

Not at all interested in the money.

If you knew how you were going to die, would you take steps in your life to alter that occurrence, recreating the future - rather than maybe, as it was meant to be. Or could it be you were meant to know so you could have a better, more appreciative future? Not take so much for granted.

I admire Jesus Christ as he had knowledge of his death, which fulfilled the Scriptures. I'd like to say I would accept things the same way, and I would pray, but I truly don't know how strong I'd be. I enjoy life so much, I would want to live to see my children's children.

Similarly to the "butterfly effect" in life. Change one thing, the whole thing changes. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Always in prayer and thanksgiving!!!

However my demise happens, I hope it's in a way that my organs can still be harvested to help others in need.

Sincerely, GoodWill2Man

Yes I would because I really would not care what the clairvoyant said. What do clairvoyants know anyway?

2007-08-29 03:16:53 · answer #10 · answered by J T 6 · 1 1

Sure. Knowing my death wouldn't make any difference. Even if I don't take the money, I still die all the same. Assuming the clairvoyant was correct, which is fairly improbable.
