there is no need to wait at all. walking doesn't take a huge toll on your body. there is no need to wait 24 hours or anything like that when you're walking, since walking does NOT bulk you up or tear down your muscles to the extent where you need rest.

Wait until you have recovered your wind. Walking is not like weight training where you should alternate every other day.

Once you have built up your endurance you can walk four miles a couple times a day. In the 1860's 4 miles to and from school, was considered a medium jaunt.

Not necessarily. It depends on how long your walking and how much and why.... If your working out and wanting to work out more, it's nice to let your body recover a little. Working out twice a day can sometimes be effective, working out in the morning and evening but it's not to good to do it long term because your body needs time to recover. Working out a lot can be bad for you. Try taking one day a week and going on a long 2-3 hour walk, then taking a day off before you get back to your regular workouts.

It shouldn't matter. Listen to your body, but you can walk more than 4 miles at once without an issue, I do all the time.

when you work out, your muscles form tiny tears all over them, you should wait at least 24 hours to exercise again- to give these tiny tears a chance to heal- and increase your walking a little every day, or every other day
