That's an old saying that has nothing to do with Christianity. In fact Jesus was of the opposite opinion, asserting that righteousness was much more important than cleanliness when his disciples were challenged for not washing their hands before eating in accordance with Jewish traditions. I bet the disciples were a smelly bunch. Jesus too!

No, it's the other way around. You cannot be considered godly unless you clean up, take a shower and put on clean clothes, do your dishes, take out the trash, etc., etc., etc.
Or hire someone else to do it for you.
