i generally cant decide wheather or not this is suposed to be a joke, is there actually people who do this type of campegning? will people with genuin info tell me about it please.

Scary as it is, they are very serious.
It goes to show how the Bible is so easily interpreted to create hatred.
My guess is that Shirley Phelps Roper could out quote most of the Christians on this forum and has an honest belief in what she is spreading.
These people highlight why Christianity is so dangerous to society, because they take the OT God seriously.

Unfortunately it is very real. Speaking as someone who believes in God I find their behavior shameful. The only thing I know about them is that they call soldiers fags and show up at their funerals with signs saying "God hates fags" ...why they have made this association (gay and soldiers) I'm really not sure but it's sickening that they add to the tragedy that these families are going through by protesting such a solemn and private occasion, for lack of a better word. How could that be right in the eyes of God?? I also know that there is a bikers group that has been showing up to shield the families from these people. You can read about them at the link. These guys are great and I really admire what they are doing.

Unfortunately, it is not a joke.
They are made up of mostly one family in Kansas. They picket other Churches, Protestant, Catholic, whatever they do not like.
They are media hounds, they came to our town a few years back and when no TV camera's showed up, and we all ignored them, they left 3 hours early.
They even picketed our own Baptist Church, so I don't think they are anywhere near mainstream.

They are for real. They very seriously hate everything that doesn't fit their tiny view of the world. Basically its an extended family of nut jobs.

Yes they are real. They even picket the funerals of service men. I think they are a blessing. It reminds the rest of us what extremism can do.
