....and if you could choose, what would you be??
I am the youngest child, with an older sister. I wouldn't like to be an only child as I would get lonely and would probably get too attached to my parents. I would like to be a middle child, with older and younger sibling/s. I love learning from my older sister but I would also like to teach and assist a younger sibling :)
What about you ??

I just realised... I typed my question the other way round!! I meant to ask-
Are you the youngest, middle, oldest or an only child? ..
I suppose you all understood what I meant, though :)
Actually I think my older sister gets all the attention - when she achieves something she is congratulated, but I'm not, since my sister has achieved it before me (being older). So i suppose that gets annoying..
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ANSWERS!!

I have a big family so including half siblings and the ones who died before the age of 2, I am 12th born out of 16. But of the ones who I really know (my siblings) I am 6th of 9. I personally like it because it means my parents are less likely to get mad at me really because they've seen it all. And I have people who love me, and are willing to help me in situations that parents really can't. Having younger siblings means that you have people who look up to you, and that you aren't the overprotected 'baby' of the family. Also having both means you're better at interacting with people both older and younger than people who are either the oldest, only or youngest. So I would pick middle.

I am the younger of the two children in my family. However, my Husband was the middle child and I have always felt that the older child has way too much expected of them and the younger child gets away with anything. The middle kids just kind of grow and are allowed to be their own person.

I'm sorta a only child. It was always just me and my mom in younger years. I have 3 younger half brothers and 2 step sisters that live with my father ( who i rarely see). I have 2 step bros that used to live here, but they've moved out. I was never really close to any of them. I have always wished I would've had a sister, though. You are so lucky! You know the show Roseanne? I always wished I could have that close of a relationship with a sister like they do!lol. I wouldn't mind being an older sister either, but I think like you, I'd enjoy having an older one. Have a good one sweetie. =)

I have a brother 9 years older and a sister 7 years older. While our age difference meant that we didn't hang out or play together much as kids - we were a close family. I always felt like my big brother would protect me, and as adults my sister has become my best friend.
I always wished I had a sibling closer to my age, and a part of me believes I was meant to have a twin.

I am a girl and the youngest of three children. I have two older brothers that are six and seven years older than me. They were born 11 months apart so are practically like twins. So in a way, once they left home, I was sort of like an only child. It was weird.

I am the oldest.
If I had a choice in the matter I would like to be an only child, or either have a different sister.

I am an only child. Always hated it and still do, I would give any thing to have a sibling and not care where I fit in. I am not too attached to my parents, but they are to me. And my Mother was and still is very over protective even though I grown. I cringe each time I hear how lucky I was to be an only child. If they only knew.

I am the youngest of 5, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and it wasn't always easy. I had two brothers who didn't care about me(and still don't), one who bullied and physically abused me and even though our parents knew about it, they did nothing. I also have an older sister who always tried to control every aspect of my life and even though standing up to her helped, my parents started siding with her and actually, through the use of intimidation, new rules, etc., facilitated her control over me. I didn't want special treatment, I just wanted to do my own thing in peace, but the others wouldn't tolerate it. Our parents also seemed to want me to pick one of my siblings and become more like one of them, when I just wanted to be me. That's my experience as youngest.
