at your gym do you use weights?
Are you doing light weights with many reps.
that will help you

I've just begun that again today and committed to losing.
It will take at least 60 days to prove positive.
This is a slow process.

Firstly there is no such thing as healthy, quick weight loss!

I am constantly amazed by people who go to the gym regularly and are concerned about weight loss.

Does nobody know that muscle is 3 times as dense as fat?

Why worry about your weight?

Sure, be self aware enough to have a healthy lifestyle, and exercising regularly is good for you, but if you train a lot you may change shape without losing any weight, or even putting weight on!

Can you fit into your favourite clothes?
Are you happy with what you see when you look in the mirror?

If not then speak to the personal trainers at your gym and they can help advise an exercise program and diet that could help you change your shape to something you are happier with...
...but focus less on your weight and more on how you feel...
...or buy new clothes that fit you and make you look good too!

Aside from that, cardio vascular exercise burns more fat than weight training, so plenty of running, rowing, cycling, and use of the cross trainer will burn fat for you.

If you do use weights (freeweights or machines) then remember that low weights and lots of repetitions will tone muscles but heavy weights will build muscle.

And drink water so you don't dehydrate and pass out (last thing you want to happen at 10km/hr on a treadmill!)

Good luck getting the shape you want

On another question here I posted how I lost weight...I exercised for years running, you'd think that would do it for me but it didn't. I really had to be religious with my food for my running to even be effective...I lost 45 lbs doing that. Also, you can't just go get on the treadmill and walk or run at a comfortable pace, it has to burn! You have to work your body hard to get any results. Most people here have said to add weights and I think that is one of the most effective ways to lose weight and shape up. I lost inches way before I lost weight. For 4 months of lifting I lost 3 inches off my waist and 2 off of my hips without losing weight, not to mention my arms have some serious definition in them. If I were you I would do some interval training on your treadmill, crank up the speed or incline and run or walk hard for 1-3 minutes, then recover walking slower or running slower for 1 minute then speed up...keep this up for 30 minutes. You can do this on the stairs or bike or anything. You need to shock your body...then for the last 30 minutes, start lifting weights, use machines, take a class, find someone like a trainer to teach you the correct form and weight for you to start out with so you don't hurt yourself. I promise you'll see results!

Those are all effective machines if you put in enough time and effort, but losing weight via exercise is not quick or easy.

Fat is an efficient means of storing energy. It takes a LOT of aerobic exercise to use up a pound of fat. We're talking several hours of cycling and/or running at a pretty good clip......

You must dress up like it was winter and then run a couple of laps around a stadium or arena daily ... the sauna effect will reduce faster your excesses of fat. The fat once gone (in a couple of months) will never deposit if you're training regularly.
