Allah (Arabic: الله, Allāh) is the standard Arabic word for "God". The term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God.[1] Arabic-speakers of all faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word "Allah" to mean "God".[2] The Muslim and Christian Arabs of today have no other word for 'God' than 'Allah'.[3] In pre-Islamic Arabia, Allah was used by pagan Meccans as a reference to the creator-god, possibly the supreme deity.[4]

In Islam, Allah is the only deity, transcendent creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind.[1][5] Some Islamic scholars believe that the term "Allāh" should not be translated, arguing that "Allāh" as used in Islam is a special and glorified term whose use should be preserved, while God can also be used in reference to deities worshiped by polytheists.

According to F. E. Peters, "The Qur'an insists, Muslims believe, and historians affirm that Muhammad and his followers worship the same God as the Jews.[Qur'an 29:46] The Quran's Allah is the same Creator God who covenanted with Abraham". Peters states that the Qur'an portrays Allah as both more powerful and more remote than Yahweh, and as a universal deity, unlike Yahweh who closely follows Israelites.[6]

According to the tradition of Islam there are more than 99 Names of God (al-asma al-husna lit. meaning: "The best names") each of which evoke a distinct characteristic of Allah. The most famous and most frequent of these names are "the Merciful" (al-rahman) and "the Compassionate" (al-rahim).

Allah is another name for God. Jesus, his Son is the only way into heaven. And, sorry, but there will not be any virgins waiting for you. Funny, how a lot of Muslims call Christians infidels, when sex is what they think their reward is.

The name that Arabs give to God, not Muslim as it predates Muslims and was used for the pantheon of Arab Gods

Jesus is the way for me and all. The Muslims have 99 names for God yet not one is Father, I think they miss the point somewhat. We may think we can do all ourselves but really we are just kidding ourselves.

Allah is not what you have said he is. He was at one time a moon Goddess of the Babylons some were She when through a sex change and became he. If this is the case then how can He/she/it be. And since this is also I guess sex changes are allowed in Islam.

You answered the question yourself. Why should we bother? For the 2 points? We don't need points that bad. Or to try to change your mind? It's clear you would not change your mind. Just to say you are wrong? No, I'm confident that you have given us the Muslim definition of this Muslim word.

It is the same God that Abraham, Moses and Jesus went to worship in the valley. Only difference is that you call him with different name.
