If you do learn foreign language(s) for leisure, let's share!
Apparently for me, I'm really passionate towards learning languages. I'm not working to become a linguist by occupation but it's purely out of interest. Learning languages simply enhances the quality of communication among speakers and users of other languages and there's just so much to learn about! Be it Asian or European languages, I'm absolutely intrigued!
Let me start the ball rolling. I'm currently still furthering my learning of German, Spanish, Thai and Tagalog. Given the diverse cultural exposure, I'm proficient in English, Chinese (and dialects), Malay, Indonesian (and dialect).
Languages which I hope to learn are: Japanese, French, Korean and Russian.
I feel that the more languages you learn, the more easier learning becomes, especially if there is a good mix of Asian and European languages. It's like opening up and training the flexibility of your left and right brain!
What about you?!

Wow, I'm amazed that there are people like Steiner who wants to learn African and Polynesian languages!
Just to answer your qs (Steiner), learning Asian language is easier because I reside in Asia and have a pretty good exposure to the native speakers and convenient availability to the language resources. Eurpoean languages come in handy when I visit the related countries. However, I don't think I'll ever get the chance to travel to Africa so African and Polynesian languages are almost invalid to me even if I learn them.
