DO you think that ,no matter what you do, Your destiny is preordained?

I do not. If that were the case there would be no reason to try to achieve anything, and we'd all be spending all our time sitting in front of the tv ,eating doritos, and waiting to see what happens next.

but then, I DO get de ja vu ,and fairly often. i mean to the point that now ,when it happens ,i think to myself ,"ah. i 'remember' this', and it doesn't even freak me out anymore.

So then, for deja vu 'believers' , that feel we can forge our own paths, how do you assimulate the relationship between the two(preordained destiny and deva vu) ?

and, finally ... where would YOU have categorized this question? i thought about sticking it in philosophy , but ..well, you guys can see, for yourselves, what i went with. ; )

Peace,
~Laurie

I've read 12 answers,so far- so then...
deja vu,.. could it be a brief colliding of two layered ,but separate ,astral planes, and would that be akin to the woman's Sister's 'door theory" ?

so, maybe my neurons are misfiring and giving me a weird peek into an all knowing -time is irrelevant- afterlife?
kinda like when your phone picks up other ppls conversations..

bear with me ppl.. i have to bring it down to simple terms, or my poor little brain has an awful time trying to wrap itself around a concept.

i'm definitely looking forward to further input.
and thank you, so far.

(ps.oh boy! do i wish 'add info' offered spell check. ; )

In all honesty: frequent deja vu is an indicator of something slightly off-kilter in your brain. There are enough natural explanations for deja vu; why grasp for the supernatural?

Second; at the macro scale this remains a deterministic universe. Therefore, no free will, only the illusion of it (you think you're making choices, but your brain state now is a direct result of your brain state in a previous moment, therefore, if we modeled the universe to an very high degree of detail we could perfectly predict your choices).

But destiny and plan implies conscious design, and there is no evidence of such. So all in all, it is just a bunch of stuff happening.

as for your last question, R&S is okay if you want lots of answers. If you want marginal quality I would suggest philosophy.

No. That is total nonsense. Otherwise there would be no free-will...no chance for redemption.

God is all-knowing (omniscient) - ALL means ALL. He not only knows WHAT we will do...He knows what we could or might do in an infinite number of variables at every instant of our lives. He knows whether we will turn right, or turn left, or turn around or go straight...and an infinite number of other possibilities.

As for "deja vu" - it could very well be a chemical reaction (the brain is really just a big, complex battery) to the coffee and pizza you had last night. Also...it could be flashes of memory that get confused due to the presence of various chemicals that can cause transference of memories from the parts of the brain we do not generally use...(what is the figure...we use about 10% of the brain we've been given?)...

This can be caused by chemicals (similar to LSD, which is similar to natural chemicals in the body)...or disease (like Alzheimers)...or - it's more-than-likely just a normal process...as most humans expereice it.

The answer to your question is yes. But it's not a simple yes.
I'm certain you have heard of 666. Well, those are your blueprints. Each persons life is according to the 666. They map out your life.
It's somewhat strange and time consuming to explain.
Basically, Each person has free will. So, you can do practically what you want. Yet, there's restrictions. The 666 are the boundaries to what you can and can't accomplish. You can stray, get out of line, but those sixes helps restrict you to a limit.
Your 666 is tied to your true soul mates 666. Subconsciously, your 666 searches for your mates 666. So, whatever you do in life affects what your true soul mate does in life. And what your true soul mate does affects what you do in life as well.
Each of the people has 666. The reason no man is perfect is because each of you is supposed to have 6666, not just 666.
As the bible mentions, in due time, the mind will be restored. Well that's what that's referring to. That's talking about restoring the fourth 6.
To break down and map out the entire process is very lengthy and tome consuming.
The bible mentions that 666 is the mark of the forehead. And the 666 can be found in the palm of the hand.
When someone points to your mind where do they point? To your forehead.
Have you not heard the saying. Hold that thought? Where do you hold things? In the palm of your hand.
When you hold your thought, then where can what you're thinking be found? In the palm of your hand.
Only one God, only one mediator, and the people.
You see God. You see the mediator. Where's the beast?
The people are treated as one. The word Satan is a name. Who's name is Satan? The people.
God combines the people as one. then name that one Satan.
The people is Satan. That's why Jesus said men is Satan.
Only one God, only one mediator, and Satan.
That's the correct way to read that verse.
The devil is a spirit. That spirit guides and instructs Satan (The people).
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; that they may be delivered unto Satan to learn not to blaspheme.
The correct way to read that verse is: Of whom is the mediator and the people; that they may be delivered unto men to learn not to blaspheme.
notice the word deliver. Babies are delivered at birth unto who? Men.
The devil and Satan are not one in the same, but they do work together as one. Which makes it hard to till who's Satan and who's the devil.
The descriptions of Satan in the bible matches perfectly the descriptions of the people.
Everyone has a role in life. The purpose is for all to learn not to blaspheme.
As you can see, the people still has yet to learn not to blaspheme. Which is why the suffering continues to multiply.

I believe that there are certain milestones in our lives that are preordained. Free will exists because we make the choice, unbeknown to us. There are many ways that we can arrive at these milestones. I believe that our destiny in the afterlife is most certainly preordained. We can choose it or lose it.

If everything was preordained then there would be no point in granting freewill or choice.

God knows the future but He does not preordain as far as individuals are concerned.

My sister in law explained this best for me. On one side of the door you see whosoever will and when you go through the door you look back and see predestined. Everyone has a choice on how they will live there lives, but it is all predestined. God knows what everyone will do. So for me I choose to be saved and accept Jesus Christ, but it was also predestined for me to be saved.

The biblical objective is NOT to "believe" sh*t.
"believe"-ers do as well as "devils": James 2:8,19.
So then "believe [it] not": Mt 24:23,26; 1Jn 4:1.

The Bible objective IS to "know" the truth: John 8:32.
Ye shall know truth makes you FREE of believe lies.
There is no option in John 8:32, but there is a chanGe,
notably from "ye"(do err) to "you"(made free of believe).

God said: let there be light(only)...end declared from begin
And there was grace(light) only ...end written in accordance

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

No. While the future of mankind as a whole has been predetermined since Adam & Eve's fall, our lives as individuals are not.

Predestination seems to fly in the face of free-will.
