Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God
These terms are used in various combinations and with varying meanings. Generally speaking, the kingdom of God on the earth is the Church. It is a preparation for the greater kingdom - the celestial or kingdom of heaven. This is the manner in which these terms are used in D&C 65. However, kingdom of heaven is sometimes used in scripture to mean the Church (as in Matt. 3: 2; Matt. 4: 17; Matt. 13; and Matt. 25: 1-13), meaning that the true church on the earth is the path of heaven, and is the kingdom of heaven on earth.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth, but is at the present limited to an ecclesiastical kingdom. During the millennial era, the kingdom of God will be both political and ecclesiastical (see Dan. 7: 18, 22, 27; Rev. 11: 15; JST Rev. 12: 1-3, 7; D&C 65), and will have worldwide jurisdiction in political realms when the Lord has made “a full end of all nations” (D&C 87: 6).

The kingdom of God is in the heavens.
His son , Jesus Christ is its king.

This kingdom will soon act and abyss Satan and his demonic followers , and destroy his Earthly false religion followers.

Then the Earth will be brought back to a paradise condition and only true God fearing righteous individuals will live there.
The people will also return to a state of perfection and will neither get sick , grow old or die.

After some time , Satan and the demons will be destroyed.

After all things have achieved perfection , the kingdom will be handed back over to God.

Only after all these things have occured will man be in the way that God initially intended his creation to be.

This is the true destiny of obedient mankind as shown in the Bible.

Mark 4: 30- Again he said, "What shall we say the Kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31- It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest plant you plant in the ground. 32- Yet when planted it becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade.

Wow - I was just studying this last night! The kingdom of God is not a special place, it's right here. It consists of all those on the earth that have decided to live a life in God's will (his plan) and have decided to give up thier desires to try to live like Christ. We will be rewarded for our faith and will reign with Jesus when he comes back. Hope this helps.

It is a literal government ruling in heaven now and later ruling the earth after it clears away the governments operating now on earth.

"the kingdom is in your midst" refers to Jesus, as King of the Kingdom standing there talking to them though they were not bright enough to understand this.
